He has the right to create them, and you have the right to ignore them. So if it annoys you so, why didn't you?
OT, I think Italy and Spain have a chance, but the rest of Europe not sure. Beat the 360 yes, Wii probably not. On the sales in Aus, well the PS3 was $699 for a long time, and most department stores didn't give it much fanfare, places like KMart and other more casual stores just didn't advertise it. Plus Aus has been sold out of PS3's for nearly a month now, which was why sales were so low. Given the lack of attention stores were giving the PS3 before, word of the Slim has been slow to get out, but at $499 its only $100 more than Wii (still around $250 more than Arcade, 360 is very cheap in Aus), so I'd say sales will be steady for a while at this elevated rate as word of the price cut gets out, as stores are advertising pretty heavily now for PS3, something that just never used to happen.
