people did not know they were out because Sony released them early

Xbox also had a price drop in its BEST region

and sony STILL increased its sales 85% in its worst region and people think this is bad?

i now expect huge numbers for Sony World Wide and in all regions this hoilday.

Concentrate on the 85% increase could be very misleading.

I would think PS3 could increase its sale by 1000% in Japan the first week Slim is released and that would only put it in 20000+ range. 1000% sounds very very impressive but 20000+ for a week certainly doesn't sound as impressive

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

and considering the price of the pro, I can imagine very good deal hangoing all around

Batmaan did great PS3 and 360 also. Dissidia will fly past 1 million now, and I wonder how much will PSP sales will actually be affected

again. 5 days, 85% increase, no marketing, its xbox land,a limited release, xbox also had a price drop. 85% is very impressive.

Now what you are trying to say is if it stays at this rate it will be more impressive? if so then i agree.

I wont debate this one bit intill jan. 2010 when we finally see the FULL effect of its sales.

ALso if the PS3 sell 20000 for the week in japan it would be a runner for the highest selling console that week. Which in fact is very impressive

It's not really. They near doubled after a really low week. Percentages are a great way to spin away the perspective that numbers provide. 37,000 -> ~70,000 doesn't sound quite as impressive, considering ~70,000 is a very poor week for Wii.
