I've seen MGS4 running on a nice TV but not Gears. Just on screens, which i know is not the best basis for a comparison but it's all i've got, i would say Gears looks better because i find that the scenery is generally more impressive.

Next round, we have Spyro The Dragon up against Killzone2.... looks like Spyro wins because people voted for it

Infact, seeing that we are on VGChartz. Why dont we take a look at VGChartz GotY awards?

Best TPS? Metal Gear Solid 4

Best Graphics? Metal Gear Solid 4

Also like to add, MGS4 was readers choice GotY, and staff runner up to LBP.

And as you will see, MGS4 won the awards from staff AND readers choice.

You guys are crazy. MGS4 is an awesome looking game, but Gears 2 is the head-and-shoulder winner.

And unlike many of the people voting, I've actually played both games - and on the same TV, none-the-less.

Since it's all about pure graphics, I would give the nod to Gears.

Textures and Lighting in Gears2 is amazing. And the games scale is pretty impressive.

MGS4 is on a pretty big scale as well, but there's just not that much intense action going on, sure there's gunshots and soldiers dying all around you but it's just not as intense as gears. I'd say MGS4 wins in Character Models, though.

The way I see it is how realistic the game's graphics are. In Gears you can totally tell that it's a video game, there's not one moment where it doesn't look like a videogame whereas with MGS4 (and I'm sure most people who have played the game would agree with me) there are actually times where it looks as though the scene was from a hollywood movie. That's my view on it with graphics but it seems that most people are going by a technical response with this one so I guess I'll go with gears? I mean there's seriously no game that has the prowess of MGS's physics system along with great graphics, it just feels so life like and fluent when you play the game but again if your talking about sheer graphical horsepower behind the graphics but not the graphics themself then it's Gears for me.
