Forums - Sony - Sony's R&D team talks about the Camera and the motion controllers.

So he is only working on interfaces and not on games. Not having an integrated software/hardware division is kind of stupid I think.

R&D = Research and Development

if you are a researcher you won't be working on the games you know.

^He said that his division was only working on the interface and nothing else. Or did I hear wrong?

No, he's works on an interface project within the R&D division, I'm sure there are plenty of other people on other projects. These guys develop the technology, they show game developers what it can do, game developers suggest things that might be useful, the R&D guys go and develop some more, until eventually you have this technology that is available for game developers to use, most likely consisting of the hardware and APIs to make using it in games a little easier.

I don't think he sounded that nervous, but who cares if he does? Not everyone is gifted with the stage presence of Bono, and it shouldn't detract from what he's actually saying and showcasing. Its just a sneak peak into how the development happens, without all the PR-approved fake gloss and interviews with people who just have the sales pitch and nothing else.

I can't wait and i'm all for it but please have an analog stick for one controller and a d-pad for another and all the buttons the standard controller has. It would be like the wii mote but better motion control and HD graphics. The best of both worlds!

Interesting, I am waiting for this one patiently

I like it. Can't wait to see what games they have in-store for it.

4 ≈ One

No Joke.

This makes me want a digital cook book program.

Just imagine having all the ingradiants in fornt of you on screen. Frying pan on the stove, and directions top and center pluse voice over.

Now you reach over and grab two eggs. But, wait! Don't pull to hard on those triggers or you will crush the eggs.

Go ahead and crack the eggs and put them in the pan.

Now lets add 1 cup of milk.

Set your stove to 180'.

Lets grab your spatula and start stirring.

I would love this kind of stuff. It is what I have been wanting from Wii, but I don't think that the Wii Mote is accurate enough for somthing this delicate. Being a fan of good foods this would be an awsome tool. Cook books are just old and out of date, and I think being able to run through making something with all the supplies and not having to worry about messing up your first go would be nice.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.
