No, he's works on an interface project within the R&D division, I'm sure there are plenty of other people on other projects. These guys develop the technology, they show game developers what it can do, game developers suggest things that might be useful, the R&D guys go and develop some more, until eventually you have this technology that is available for game developers to use, most likely consisting of the hardware and APIs to make using it in games a little easier.
I don't think he sounded that nervous, but who cares if he does? Not everyone is gifted with the stage presence of Bono, and it shouldn't detract from what he's actually saying and showcasing. Its just a sneak peak into how the development happens, without all the PR-approved fake gloss and interviews with people who just have the sales pitch and nothing else.
