I'm starting to dislike Nintendo's attitude...

Their attitude of not screwing over the people who've bought it up until now?

OT: The reason is simply because Wii sales are still amazing.  Just because they're 'only' almost outselling their two competitors combined is not cause for concern.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

The wii HD is coming and its gonna be an expansion to the system through usb slot or an update.

That wouldn't work. Wii doesn't have enough power to run HD games at good frame rates, sorry.

It would have to be a whole new system, which is not happening until 2012 at the earliest.

EDIT: after reading more of the thread, I think you might mean Hard drive i.e. HDD. In that case, no your wrong. :) The support for a 32GB SD card is more than enough for Wii's features and those cards will continue to grow in size. A HDD addon is simply not necessary.

I remember in my days HD meant Hard Disk and HDTV was High Def T.V. Now HDTV gets shortened and HD has to add another D for "Drive". Young people today messing up what was once simple and understandable. Can't HDD mean High Def Display? Time for a new thread.

No price drop means they're not screwing people over! That's some amazing spin. Wow... just wow.

Nintendo doesn't have to follow the 2nd and 3rd place competition.

I bought a PS3 for $699 Canadian.  They are now $299.  It's great for new prospective buyers who want the system but can't afford or justify the price., which is obviously what a price drop is targetted at.  Don't get me wrong, the PS3 was too expensive and needed to come down to a better price.  But of course I'm spinning, and my comment has nothing to do with the fact that it's now possible to get the exact same experience for $400 less.

My wii already supports a 500GB HD through the use of homebrew lol.

You are mixing up HD = High Definition, with HDD = Hard Disc Drive

no i think he means that through homebrew his wii has a 500GigaBytes of storage (GB) and it is High Definition through homebrew as well.

No, he definitely got it mixed up. Trust us.

.. bcoz theyr greedy?

I built a PC for $650 canadian last october. A comparable computer could now be bought for $500 with a CPU that runs cooler at the same clockspeed. Had I waited to buy one until now, I could have had better processor that runs cooler and a faster gpu for the same price, or built a PC that's just as fast as mine but better for $150 less. Anyone buying my aforementioned $500 PC is going to get the same experience as me, so that means I paid more for less. Compare this to your $700 PS3 that upscales ps2 games among other things that newer models don't do.

Those who make PC components or Sony are hardly screwing me or you over by reducing prices over time. You understood what you were getting into by being an early adopter.
