meh, after seeing Heavy rain this just looks ugly...I suppose it's because I've been spoiled by HD.

At least wii core gamers will have a decent game, for wii standards, so it's all good I suppose.

I'll buy Heavy Rain 1st day, almost sure, but the more I see the more I'm disapointed. The slow motion parts are soooo stupid. Lightning is bad. Bahhhh

This one is exactly the opposite. The more I see the more I want it!

Where's my gun? I need a gun to shoot everything in sight. Without that , and a chainsaw, these games are nothing to me.

Personally i think genre bias in GOTY awards is as bad as the film equivalent. Regardless that its on Wii, the genre of horror doesn't really get credit, not like platformers and fps do.

Horror games are not a genre. They are sub-genres of action or adventure titles mainly. Also, Resident Evil 4 swept GOTYs and Resident Evil 2 got quite a few back in 1998 also. Regarding movies, the best have gotten recognized through nominations(The Shining, The Excorcist) and if you really think the rest deserved to win best picture, you seriously don't understand what the awards are they give out leading up to that.

Regarding the Silent Hill game, it looks interesting. I might check this out in the future.

wut?

Movies are seperated into genre based primarily on the mood they give off. Games are primarily seperated into genres based on the differences in gameplay mechanics. This is why Halo is labeled as a shooter and not a sci-fi game. This is why Disgaea is labeled as a turn based strategy RPG and not a comedy. Horror is not a gameplay mechanic, it's simply the mood of the game. The way the game plays, whether it be an FPS, third person shooter, RPG, etc. is the gaming genre you place it in. Horror would be a sub genre of whatever primary gameplay mechanic the game has.

I wonder if I should get this game if/when I buy a Wii.

How much do you all reckon this game will sell? 250,000?

I wonder if SH series is any popular in Jpn anymore.

This may bring the series back to it's glory, and innovate it at the same time. I want the developer to make a new continuation to silent hill like this.

Edit: Also the ice gives a more desolate feel than ashes/fire gave. Definately a plus in terms of atmosphere for me.

maybe because the REmake was for GameCube and that is the best looking one that is a survival horror.

RE4 and RE5 are both survival-action games =P

why did they have to change the Silent Story line that much =s
Silent Hill 1 still have a better atmosphere this one feels like the movie.

yeah i agree, the game feels more like the movie, and less and less than silent hill.
