This! I never doubted CT was wrong, but the ammount of bashing in that thread raised the bar.

Seriously though - not to knock Chart Track here (as they do a fantastic job) but considering they directly track 85% of the market and yet still need to make these (reasonably significant) adjustments then it amazes me how people jump on VGC for the adjustments we need to make from time to time, especially given that we cover nowhere near 85% of the market (not even 1/50th of that).

Tbh I think it's because VGZ is free/community site. Cause I recall the threads, that were made regarding how correct Chart Track was, and taking every shot they could at VGZ numbers. EVEN with the logic of the Chart Track numbers not making sense...To me the only reason why people would "respect" their numbers more is because VGZ is seen as a "community" site not a professional one. 



The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!

...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

We need to dig up the thread covering the chart track confusions that had 360 outselling Wii (and PS3 on par with Wii). I remember being skeptical and a lot of VGC bashing.

I also seem to recall an excellent poster BKK (or something like that) posting for the last time in that thread cause ioi wouldn't admit his numbers were that far off...

Not to distribute crow or anything, just to set the record straight cause I believe this site (and its contributors, ioi in particular), deserve it!

So let me get this straight. Only Nintendo's numbers were wrong not MS or Sony?

If so i do not see what the problem is as those 2's numbers will not change thus meaning who cares? Nintendo won long ago, a few extra k's here and there dont change anything....

VGC is reliable in my view, sometimes people make mistakes, everyone makes them.
