It's my first ever Mario Kart, and I thought it was brilliant. The Wii tracks were very high in quality - even compared to the retro GC ones, Maple Treeway and Koopa Cape in particular are fantastic. For several months after release, I stopped playing Wipeout to play this, which is quite something for me. There is, quite simply, no game that me and my girlfriend have spent more time on that MK Wii - not Wii Sports, not Brawl, nothing. It's sheer addictive good fun.

I've been thiking about this game a lot lately as well. For a long time the N64 version was my favorite Mario Kart. I was very disappointed with Double Dash. Initially I had Mario Kart Wii as a distant second to the N64 Version and probably tied with the SNES version for 2nd..But I've caught the Mario Kart Wii bug again lately and I must say its probably the best console iteration ever.

The only real complaints I have for the game is 1) I think Bikes are unbalanced compared to the Karts. And 2) That they fucked up battlemode. SNES I think is still the best battlemode to be in a Mario Kart game. Also I would have liked the speedometer touch, but what can you do.

On second thought its tied for first..N64 is just too nostalgic.

Yeah, Mario Kart Wii had lots of features missing. So I hope the next Mario Kart will be better and have new features and no hackers.

Mario Kart Wii is the best MK game I have played by far. The online is great, especially the tournaments and rankings. There is a great mix of new and retro courses, and I love that there are twice as many courses as previous entries in the series. It really keeps the courses from getting stale that way. I really like the addition of the bikes. I think it adds a lot to the game. I have never had an issue with the items or the AI. Yes, you will occasionally get nailed by two or three items at once, but that happened to me in previous MKs as well.

Here is how I rank the series (only the games I have played):

MK Wii >> Super MK = MK 64 > MK DD (and I even liked the two characters per kart gimmick)

For me, MK:DD was the worst MK ever...

MK Wii is my best MK game overall. The 64 one comes close too and the DS one. Ummm the online is fantastic makes me wonder how they messed up in SSBB online. Oh well. When Nintendo's next console comes around, Smash and Mario Kart will kick ass.

Probably is my favorite Mario Kart, considering I've only played the SNES and N64 ones.

The only complain is the "punishes skill" thing. It's very annoying.

reflecting on it as a 8200 player . . . to me its the best one for me since the first.

some say it got too powerupish, but the cream still rises, the online is awesome, and the threat of losing points makes it all tense. i absolutely love it.

its my favorite one since the snes one honestly. the online alone.

though now i play ghosts a lot. and that is proving quite tricky to get all the times.

fantastic game, that i doubted at first. timeless.
