Forums - Nintendo - Iwata: Nintendo's E3 not as good as it could have been

Wow, I thought it was great with 2 new Mario games and Other M being announced. Good to know the Big N still has high standards.

I thought they had a very high-quality show this year.

-Plenty of support for every type of gamer you can imagine
-Just about every genre
-New details on already-known games
-New games debuted
-Great showing for Wii and DS, especially DSiWare
-Hammered home their 'everyone can play' philosophy in a way that didn't alienate their core fanbase.

The only thing they could have reasonably done better was have Miyamoto there, though that's just my Nintendo fanboy self upset that I didn't see him in person when I was there -_-

I do understand his thought that some people didn't really get New Super Mario Bros Wii. It doesn't seem like anything dramatically new when you watch a video, you REALLY need to play it to see how goddamn awesome it is (not to mention the fact that it's the first console Mario sidescroller since the SNES).

Can't wait to see their show next year, though, if it's going to be even better!

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

cammie being fired would help.
well it was not bad, it was better than microsoft.
they had a working tech so did sony.
but sony delivered more games.

i thought it was boring, and ironicly it was the part where Iwata shows up that bored me the most when he talked for like a half an hour about the sales then he announced the wii vitality sensor.

How could it have been better? They announced a sequel to every game they have ever made. They completely won e3 in my impression

imo all the E3 had their boring moments
Sony's showing ALOT of trailers and llllloooooooooooooooooonnggg ones about how many games the psp have (can't blame them) and then the assassins creed video (i hate assassins creed)

and Microsoft talking about Facebook and then random celebrities showing up talking about how cool they are, and how gamers are a bunch of geeks that will never be as cool as they are.

Their e3 was pretty good. They treated all the demographics they had and well so.

Iwata was a bit boring with the vitality sensor and they didn't show any game for it. Those are the only minus points.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Could have been a lot better IMO.

Too much Cammie
Too much Mario, 4 games if i remember correctly.
Lack of Zelda Wii.
Lack of StarFox Wii.
Lack of Kirby Wii.
Too much talk on sales and the "Vitality Sensor"

the games they showed were great, but the performance didn't "wow me" i suppose...

I played Mario Galaxy less than two years ago and I didn't have the feeling of wanting a new Mario....and they gave us TWO new marios. I was really hoping for a new wii zelda trailer, but the game hasn't been showed yet. I was betting for some Nintendo IP that they still haven't used, like Donkey Kong, Starfox, Kid Icarus....and they made a sequel to Metroid, that has already be done on the Wii. And I was really waiting for a great 3rd party announcement due to Wii leadership....but nothing happened.

Ok, this year' Nintendo E3 was better than E3 2008, but the fact is that George Bush playing hoola hop may be better than Nintendo E3 2008 press conference.
