I think VGChartz is trying to do way more than it needs to.

I liked how things were simple before. I only come to this site, I go to no other apart from Gamefaqs from time to time. I enjoy seeing news stories on the front page, I like to check up on sales numbers and sometimes I like to see how a specific game is doing.

I love the forum area, best community on a gaming site, bar none. I mean that seriously. It is what has kept me here for almost 2 years now.

Reviews are nice too but I rarely read them. Still nice to have and hopefully you guys can get added to Metacritic, that would do wonders for you guys.

Everything else though doesn't need to be on the front page, it runs so slow, especially on my work PC and now it is beginning to run slower on my laptop at home. Way too much going on there.


To be honest I think you should focus more on VGChartz strengths because every time you try to branch out that leaves less attention to give to these much more vital areas.

Forums, software sales, and lately news too... ever since v2.0 launched, and especially after this year's E3, there's been a much greater focus on gaming news on the main page... the charts are almost a secondary thing nowadays.

I dunno if that's necessarily a good thing, but it's nice to come to one website and get pretty much all the big news of the day without having to visit like 3 or 4 other sites to get the same info.

You can never have too much pornography, it's like, the eleventh commandment, or something.

"Thou shall not haveth too much pornography", I believe, was the original script, but I think it got changed throughout the years to "thou shalt honour your mother and your father".

Something along them lines, I'm not 100% on biblical history.

In my opinion, this website has become too concerned with supplementary features and has lost focus on what they do best. I commend you for trying to provide diversity and thereby expanding your influence beyond sales data, but this website was built on video game sales data and analysis.

I personally began visiting this site in the hopes that we could establish a strong competitor to NPD. Obviously, this is not a small task and I'm sure you've done your best to bridge connections with publishers, retailers and the like and I would like you to continue to do so. But I don't think trying to shoehorn features onto the website is going to help your cause. Most of these features (news, game reviews, videos, etc) are done better elsewhere with experienced journalists and webmasters with deep pockets. In addition, these groups have built strong ties within the games industry and therefore are able to offer exclusive content and interviews with some of the best in the industry. They specialize in what they do best and so should you.

As I see it, this website is the best alternative to NPD available with some of the best sales analysis that I've ever come across. It is for this reason it pains me to see all that hard work being done on source data that may or may not be accurate. That is, if the statistics are unreliable, the analysis is useless.

I've seen this site grow over the years and it seems as though the hardware data is improving but the software data is severely lacking. In my opinion, the only way that you're going to receive a sizable increase in hits is by improving your data. Many potential viewers choose to distance themselves from this website under the stigma of inaccuracy and unreliability. I believe that a focus on improving the data through building strong relationships with all relevant parties shows your commitment to the growth of the website and to the community that supports it.

I'm an fishphile, so, yes, that will serve me well.

I personally love this site, i would love more active forms.

It's worth-while looking at how far this site has come, especially compared to what used to be considered as it's main rival
