#1 The numbers. I like to have a general sense of where the market is, and around how many people are playing the games I play

#2 The forums. I like discussions on topics I like and debates (whether you like me or not) on topics I don't agree with

#3 The users. Some of the users on here I feel like I know personally. For better or worse, having some sort of communication with people who enjoy the same thing I do (video games) is always great, because no one around me, IRL, is as passionate about the industry as I am. They may play games, but they aren't gamers. And plus...where else would someone randomly give me a month free of LIVE (I'm looking at you badgenome)? And the funny part is, VGC didn't notify that I had a new message when it happened, so I have a LIVE code in my inbox that's been sitting there for a year LOL

I come to this site to discuss sales for games and to see people's predictions for the sales of upcoming games. No offence to ioi but I don't trust the numbers posted on this website at all, pretty much see them as numbers coming out of ioi's magic number farm and nothing more.

NPD and Media Create are the only numbers I trust and my trust of the numbers posted on this site being legit are very low probably due to being me being a Gaf member for so many years and ioi being a complete joke on that site. Pretty much pulling numbers out the backside is whatever everyone including me thinks there. ( Have actually seen so many people including me banned for just mentioning VGChartz.) When the numbers release from NPD and are then compared to VGChartz it is rather embarrassing about how bad the sales 'tracking' on this site really is.

That said just look at how many times I have posted on this website........I obviously love discussing sales and plain old gaming. It's a great site for discussing sales though which is why I always come back for more. :)

Credibility: On the topic of credibility, one thing people have asked for time and again was simply a listing of the major adjustments that have been made to the data. Every time I see Vgchartz mentioned and examined, that was the most major complaint which was easily addressable.

For the sales numbers, I think like other people have said; there should be a set time that they all go up at once. Say for example every Friday is hardware and every Sunday is software, that way people don't miss the updates. Recently the sales numbers have been even more erratic than they used to be, it would be nice to know ahead of time if the sales numbers will be late. I've seen cases where they haven't even gone up for one week and an official explanation would do wonders for dispelling the uncertainty.

I would also love for the information and sales graphs to be postable into the forums. We can't easily discuss a trend in the HW/Launch or HW/Date graphs if they can't be posted into the forums themselves. If you want more serious sales discussions we need more serious tools. Its the sites strength and we need to make better use of it.

I come here mainly for the sales numbers, and articles about the sales. I also like most of the rest of the features on the site, but think some of the new features like cheat requests are a little unnecessary, at least to show up so predominantly.

As far as increasing awareness I fully agree, that a fixed schedule of when the numbers coming in would help. Maybe even something as trivial as a countdown timer to the release of the numbers on the main page could increase anticipation. It seems like anytime a publisher puts a countdown timer on a website for an announcement everyone goes crazy, so maybe it would help here too. At the very least I think it would at least increase the initial hits after the numbers are released.

I also think it would be great if there were more sales analysis articles. There is always the article on America's sales that seem to get a lot of views, so why not one for Europe/Others as well? Finally I think if you have the numbers available, releasing a preview article of sales data like you did for The Conduit, for any moderately hyped game would be a great way to get a lot of views.

lurkers are casual, posters are hardcore and the sites are like the console players!
If you want somthing out of the box than your going to need somthing that
is inovated. They did say this has the best community right? Why not improve what
we can do to talk with people. Als to get lurkers to stop lurking maybe have a arcade or somthing.
