But doesn't everyone say there isn't point in having a HDTV unless it's 42" for 360 or PS3 to notice the differences?

I sized it down because you have a small monitor.

Btw, I use my LCD TV as a monitor as well.

Can someone explain to me why screen size matters? I hear people all the time saying , oh you should have this video card if you got a 30" monitor, or you don't need that for 19".

As far as I know, screen size has nothing to do with it, just the resolution. I mean there are 1680x1050 in all ranges of screen sizes. Likewise 1920x1080 goes anywhere from 23" to 100"+.

I can see how there is a slight correlation in screen size and the resolution of the monitor, but it would jsut be easier to say what resolution are you playing at?

sorry, pet peeve of mine.

Mainly it has to do with the video cards and their power. If a monitor only has a certain max resolution, then somebody might recommend a certain video card rather than a more expensive card because it'll perform well at that resolution for a cheaper price.

Screen size does have something to do with it though. 2560 x 1600 is the max resolution for 30" monitors and you can only get that with those. Simiarly, certain monitor sizes support different max resolutions. For example, it would be kind of weird to get a $500 GTX 295 when you have a 17" LCD monitor that supports a max resolution of 1440x900 when a $100 9800gt would suit you just fine.

Screen size does have something to do with it. I believe to the 2560 x 1600 resolution is the max for 30" monitors.

But I can also get a 30" monitor with 1920x1200 ,max

or 1920x1080 max

or 1600x1050 max

or 1280 x 768 max

or 1280 x 1024 max

Also how long until 2560 x 1600 reaches lower sized monitors? or a higher resolution comes along, then what?

It's just so much easier to say My resolution is ______, telling someone they have a 23" monitor means nothing.

The screen size tells you absolutely nothing.

Perhaps we're saying something similar. Just saying screen size is pointless while screen size and/or at least resolution (native or what you play at) is better.

Ew, it only has 5ms response time :P

Oh wow, there seems to be a good deal on this one. Though I'd personally rather see reviews of them as well as see it with my own eyes in a store first.

5ms is enough for everything. Zero ghosting. 2ms is just a selling point for screen makers, but has no gain in reality.
