^ That is just my opinion though.

When people can get DLC with out being taxed even I'll agree

Again, just because YOU think LIVE is better than PSN doesn't make it factual.

LOL, never wrong CGI are you, take a step back and look at this thread again and you will see YOU are in the minority thinking PSN is better than Xbox Live FACT, more people in this thread prefer live over psn, live must be better then right?

and Euphoria14, you have said yourself your not even that much into online features and online games a few pages back, I would say your certainly not a person to listen to in that case if you haven't even used all the online features of BOTH xbox live and psn, sorry if this sounds harsh but its the truth, if you have used both psn and live to their full ability then sorry!

It's like me saying world of warcraft is rubbish when I have never ever played it, see where i'm going with this?

No I don't sorry.

The fact that you are trying to set prerequisites for what enables someone to have a valid opinion in here is ridiculous.

Sorry if it sounds harsh but it's the truth.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Like many here, I use both services. The core online gaming (lag, latency, disconnects) is the same on Live as it is on PSN. This is to be expected with peer to peer networking. Live is better in terms of online features. The party voice chat on Live is a feature that Sony needs to implement. Also, it shouldn't be a mystery when my friends come online, or if they send me a message. Live does a nice job of notifying me of these things. Unfortunately, Live comes with a cost. I buy all of my multiplatform games on PS3, because I don't know for certain that I will pay for Live every year.

Edit: The friends status and message notification refers to when I start the system.  When I start the 360 it does a better job of giving me a friend/message status.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

I only use the PSN so I could hardly judge in all fairness. Still, the PSN keeps getting better evrey day, guess it's true for live as well... Anyway, the fact that the PSN is free makes it the better service for me.

It really comes down to one thing, if you want to chat with friends and use your console as a social networking tool LIVE is better, however, if you actually want to play games PSN is better. Untill LIVE uttillises dedicated servers like Sony does, it will always be inferior IMO. Peer to Peer connections are terrible compared to dedicated servers.

That is up to the developers.  If developers want to carry the cost of dedicated servers, nothing is stopping them.

If it is up to the developers, why doesn't M$ have any?  As far as I know there is only one (Battlefield 1943) and I've only heard that it had dedicated servers, I do not know for sure.  On the other side, most, if not all the PS3 exclusives are some type of dedicated server set up.

If it is up to the developers, you LIVE members should be screaming for this.  It is so much better, if you are not getting them you are missing out on a far better network than what you are used to.  After all, you are paying for what is supposed to be a premier network service, it at least should offer more than one game with the best network set up.

Actually, I would rather have P2P.  You can read a previous post I made in this thread as to why that is.  As to why developers do not use dedicated servers, that is also answered in my post.  MS offers them a free alternative(MS sure isn't going to pay for any 3rd party dedicated servers) and provides an excellent API for helping them with their online component.

And yes, Battlefield uses dedicated servers, hence why there is no matchmaking in that game.

Why do people keep babbling about steam, when we're talking about top console online? PC guys always have to stick their nose (which is already upward) anywhere their name isn't being mentioned.

Not many people actually use Steam for its gaming side.  It is mostly just for downloading games.

man, i hate these my Dick vs your Cock fights they're so childish and stupid.
there i said it!! and i don't care.

Although I wouldn't have put it as harshly, , I agree with your point Pullus. It's an OPINION people, you either like one, the other, or neither. There are no right or wrong answers in here.

This is what happens when people post in absolutes i.e: "LIVE is better, no question" or "PSN is the greatest because it is". It's pretty ridiculous since neither is factual.

Things are factual when you bring offerings and proof to the table.

Some of the offereings of LIVE people don't care for, and the same goes with PSN. However...

PSN: HOME, VidZone, Web Browser, TV/Movie download service

Games: Fat Princess, Wipeout HD, Flower, Pixel Junk series, SIREN: Blood Curse, Tekken 5: DR etc, etc...

Xbox Live: In-Game voice chat, Cross Game Invite, Voice Messaging, Party Chat, Netflix, Media Center

Games: Braid (also coming to PSN), Castle Crashers (also coming to PSN), UNO, Paperboy, Geometry Wars...I buy less games on XBLA, so I know of less exclusives for it.

@ Zizzla

Now, I've listed the features but it doesn't change anything. How have I posted one-sided, what did I leave out? At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what I post, people will like what they like, nothing you can do about it. And by the way, when did I say I chose one service COMPLETELY over the other? I said there are aspects of PSN I like over LIVE and vice versa. READ what I post.

Nothing you, or S.T.A.G.E. said for that matter, proves factual. As with me, you have an opinion, that is all. I don't see how people's opinions of either can be wrong. The only thing I see wrong is posters telling other posters that they're wrong for believing PSN is superior to LIVE. That's preposterous because not everyone has to like what you like, or what you perceive as better.

I don't particularly like repeating myself but I'm really trying to make my point clear.

Home...I don't know If XBL needs that...

VidZone..Is that like Netflix?...Please elaborate....

Ok...A web Browser...Not bad...

The Games....What ever...I don't want to get into that..

Xbox Live has TV/Movie downloads....

And the rest is your usual *Holding Down* Sony...

I am just giving a point of view from someone in my position

(!! this is not an attack !!)

But isen't that the "problem". I may be wrong but the topic is about which online service is better, not "which one do you like the most according to your needs".

It's not a matter of use but rather features, like voice chat, Home, demos for all arcade games, dedicated server...

Right now, I think the Live is still above and moving in the right direction (social networking, free games...), minus those damn ads.

Right. LIVE is better in YOUR OPINION. The "problem" is, people post in absolutes and that's what he's getting at. It's irrelevant if you, or I think LIVE is better, he prefers PSN, which is why this is all opinionated.

My God, I can't believe I've had to post this so many times.

I think Cryoakira is right...It's not about Opinion...It's about Features...Live has features PSN has yet to implement...And PSN taxes DLC...Plus it cost 3rd parties money to support it...

Point? PSN has features, games, services LIVE does not. So what, it's still an opinion if someone likes PSN over LIVE and vice versa. It isn't factual that LIVE is greater/better than PSN or vice versa. Yes, it IS an opinion, not a fact.

Why can't people accept that?

Ok..The Web Browser....Besides that What features....Home?

Becuase your trying to defend PSN...And Not actually comparing the services....

And my Point is....That PSN does not have better feature than XBL...It's not my opinion...When Sony themselves say "Were no longer that much behind XBL" Is there more to disscuss?

With NetFlix and When last FM,Facebook rolls in....

You still have proven that everything you're posting is subjective, not factual. What I feel for PSN is irrelevant, what you feel for LIVE is irrelevant. Besides, if you actually read my posts, you'd see that I have defended people's right to be subjective. Not so much the services, per se...

This is what you're having a hard time understanding, that not everyone's opinion are the same, and everyone doesn't share your opinion that LIVE is better than PSN. You can't go around proclaiming that YOU thinking LIVE is better than PSN makes it factual, that's not realistic.

To end, I like LIVE's communications set up better. I prefer PSN's HOME, PSN games better. Does this prove that either is better than the other, no, because there are plenty of people who agree and disagree with me. Therefore, it's an opinion, not fact. Deal with it dude...

Btw, Sony didn't say that they thought LIVE was better than their service either, as you're implying. Why would they?

All you do is tell people that they should post unbaised and then disagree with them...

Not factual?...Right...I asked for a list of PSN features..

And you always talk about opinions...and how if some one post what they like it's only their opinion...

I have not simply posted that XBL is better..People were asked to pick one..And I picked XBL...

But now...

You still have yet to post any features that PSN has that are so good Live should have them...

"I don't think there's a lot of 'catch up' [with XBL] anymore. In some cases, I think we've got more, and we've got some other things they don't have," says TK. "In terms of strengths, of course we're still free, and we're giving you a lot for free."

Right. And others picked PSN, and it seems you're trying to tell them that they're wrong. That's what I have a problem with, you can't get on people for being subjective. It isn't a FACT that LIVE is better than PSN, rather an opinion.

For some one who tells people to Read post you sure miss alot...When Did I tell anyone that they were wrong..All I did was say I thought some dude had it right with his post..And you went into a flurry....I'll ask again....Why do people get chraged tax for DLC on PSN?
