I like steam too much

LOL, never wrong CGI are you, take a step back and look at this thread again and you will see YOU are in the minority thinking PSN is better than Xbox Live FACT, more people in this thread prefer live over psn, live must be better then right? and Euphoria14, you have said yourself your not even that much into online features and online games a few pages back, I would say your certainly not a person to listen to in that case if you haven't even used all the online features of BOTH xbox live and psn, sorry if this sounds harsh but its the truth, if you have used both psn and live to their full ability then sorry! It's like me saying world of warcraft is rubbish when I have never ever played it, see where i'm going with this?

No I don't sorry.
The fact that you are trying to set prerequisites for what enables someone to have a valid opinion in here is ridiculous.
Sorry if it sounds harsh but it's the truth.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)
Like many here, I use both services. The core online gaming (lag, latency, disconnects) is the same on Live as it is on PSN. This is to be expected with peer to peer networking. Live is better in terms of online features. The party voice chat on Live is a feature that Sony needs to implement. Also, it shouldn't be a mystery when my friends come online, or if they send me a message. Live does a nice job of notifying me of these things. Unfortunately, Live comes with a cost. I buy all of my multiplatform games on PS3, because I don't know for certain that I will pay for Live every year.
Edit: The friends status and message notification refers to when I start the system. When I start the 360 it does a better job of giving me a friend/message status.
Thanks for the input, Jeff.
I only use the PSN so I could hardly judge in all fairness. Still, the PSN keeps getting better evrey day, guess it's true for live as well... Anyway, the fact that the PSN is free makes it the better service for me.

That is up to the developers. If developers want to carry the cost of dedicated servers, nothing is stopping them. |
If it is up to the developers, why doesn't M$ have any? As far as I know there is only one (Battlefield 1943) and I've only heard that it had dedicated servers, I do not know for sure. On the other side, most, if not all the PS3 exclusives are some type of dedicated server set up.
If it is up to the developers, you LIVE members should be screaming for this. It is so much better, if you are not getting them you are missing out on a far better network than what you are used to. After all, you are paying for what is supposed to be a premier network service, it at least should offer more than one game with the best network set up.

Actually, I would rather have P2P. You can read a previous post I made in this thread as to why that is. As to why developers do not use dedicated servers, that is also answered in my post. MS offers them a free alternative(MS sure isn't going to pay for any 3rd party dedicated servers) and provides an excellent API for helping them with their online component.
And yes, Battlefield uses dedicated servers, hence why there is no matchmaking in that game.

Why do people keep babbling about steam, when we're talking about top console online? PC guys always have to stick their nose (which is already upward) anywhere their name isn't being mentioned.
Not many people actually use Steam for its gaming side. It is mostly just for downloading games.

Some of the offereings of LIVE people don't care for, and the same goes with PSN. However... PSN: HOME, VidZone, Web Browser, TV/Movie download service Games: Fat Princess, Wipeout HD, Flower, Pixel Junk series, SIREN: Blood Curse, Tekken 5: DR etc, etc... Xbox Live: In-Game voice chat, Cross Game Invite, Voice Messaging, Party Chat, Netflix, Media Center Games: Braid (also coming to PSN), Castle Crashers (also coming to PSN), UNO, Paperboy, Geometry Wars...I buy less games on XBLA, so I know of less exclusives for it. @ Zizzla Now, I've listed the features but it doesn't change anything. How have I posted one-sided, what did I leave out? At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what I post, people will like what they like, nothing you can do about it. And by the way, when did I say I chose one service COMPLETELY over the other? I said there are aspects of PSN I like over LIVE and vice versa. READ what I post. Nothing you, or S.T.A.G.E. said for that matter, proves factual. As with me, you have an opinion, that is all. I don't see how people's opinions of either can be wrong. The only thing I see wrong is posters telling other posters that they're wrong for believing PSN is superior to LIVE. That's preposterous because not everyone has to like what you like, or what you perceive as better. I don't particularly like repeating myself but I'm really trying to make my point clear. |
Home...I don't know If XBL needs that...
VidZone..Is that like Netflix?...Please elaborate....
Ok...A web Browser...Not bad...
The Games....What ever...I don't want to get into that..
Xbox Live has TV/Movie downloads....
And the rest is your usual *Holding Down* Sony...

Right. And others picked PSN, and it seems you're trying to tell them that they're wrong. That's what I have a problem with, you can't get on people for being subjective. It isn't a FACT that LIVE is better than PSN, rather an opinion. |
For some one who tells people to Read post you sure miss alot...When Did I tell anyone that they were wrong..All I did was say I thought some dude had it right with his post..And you went into a flurry....I'll ask again....Why do people get chraged tax for DLC on PSN?
