Forums - Sony - Where did Spyro go?

So you actually liked a Spyro game on the PS2 ???
All the good ones were on PS1.

Exactly the same thing happened to to Crash Bandicoot series. Vivendi bought the rights and the series went down.

If I were you I wouldn't buy any Spyro or Crash game except for the first 3 in the series.

This is one of the games that didn't make the jump to the next gen.

  • Spyro (5 million on PS1 / 1.63 million on PS2 / 2.1 million on GBA)
  • Crash Bandicoot (it sold 5 million on the PS2!!!)
  • Tomb Raider (5 million on PS1 / 4.5 million on PS1 / 3.34 million on PS1)
  • Banjo Kazooie ( 3.65 million on N64)

There are probably some more, but I just can't remember them right now.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

All 4 of those games made the jump to next gen

mM

i have spyro for my PS3 and let me tell you it is nothing like the PS1 spyro's.

This game really does need insomniac

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

i miss Spyro when it was with Insomniac , those were the best games, now its like a kiddie version of God of war or something.
i also miss the very simple yet addicting Crash Bandicoot , now hes all tattooed up and got unneeded free roam.

He means quality and/or sales wise.

He died a painful, painful death along with Crash Bandicoot.

Very sad aswell.

Spyro was good under Insomniac, Crash was good under Naughty Dog. Don't try to buy any games from those series not made by those developers.

The games kinda went in the shadows after the last few titles came out, I guess they don't have the same appeal as they used to. I've only played a couple on the Playstation myself.
