They are stopping support pretty early aren't they?
Just as a guage thats 4 months.
Bungie still 19 months later have not stopped working on Halo 3 addons. So much so they are bringing out Halo 3 ODST.

Why would Guerilla stop so early???

where did you read they stopped supporting Killzone 2????????????

They said there taking a "well deserved" vecation , but then again what ever makes you happy selnor

HAHAHAHA just read his post above you Frikin hillarious.

Why is it funny. I think it's rather sad. The game certainly deserves better. And deserves higher sales than the crap PS3 version of COD4. COD is way overated, but yet PS3 fans buy that instead. On 360 Halo 3 kills COD4 in sales. But on PS3 COD4 runs riot.

It's sad when a game like KZ2 has made no profit, and has a very small online community. KZ2 deserves better. It makes a company like Sony look at hard at supporting that franchise, because they are in money trouble already.

So while you laugh, it is actually really sad.

LOL while I laugh find a link for those numbers you posted that you  "researched".

http://www.psxextreme.com/ps3-news/2503.html

This site shows the rough production cost for KZ2 at the start of 2008 = 60 mill US dollars. Add another year of production as it released in 2009.

Currently online is 258 total Killzone 2 players. With 2221 people being logged in. Number is very low compared to that of top online showings.

http://www.killzone.com/kz/index.psml

Compare that to at the same time 59,000 players currently playing online.

http://www.bungie.net/Online/Default.aspx

And how did I come up with the money made from sales. 1.74 million sales times around $39.99 once you take away all the cost, that's what they roughly make on each copy sold of KZ2.

@ Nen Suer. I've done nothing to this thread, but say it's a game that deserves better. I have stated figures. Nothing more. It should have been supported better by PS3 owners. It deserved it.

Selnor, that link to the supposed budget is a rumor. It even says so in the title. The sales are disappointing, I agree, but you really don't know what you're on about.

Oh cmon. Seriously? I'm showing people with ?'s why they are probably taking a step back. I can name 3 companies that dont step back after 4 months of the game being released. In fact I can say that they will stick with it for about 12 - 24 months.

Now I believe a valid reason for this happening is lack of profit, and lack of people purchasing the DLC and playing online. All comments relative to the subject. And a very valid point. Yes they were rumours, but we all know KZ2 was high in dev costs. For a 5 year development process I would say that $70 million is pretty spot on.

I do know what I'm on about. I will continue to think that a pause in continued support only 4 months after the game being released is nothing more than Sony looking at it's profitablity.

Killzone 2 kicks major ass!!! I think 1.76 million sold is an awesome accomplishment considering the first game really sucked. The PS3+KZ2+ MGS4 bundle should add a significant amount of people into the awesome online community. Now that Killzone 2 raised some eyebrows with its graphics and online multiplayer imagine how big Killzone 3 will be!! This franchise is young and will likely get better with the 3rd installment.... Way to go GG. Im glad I own Killzone 2!

I'll tell you why most companies dont take a step back from their game after 4 months.... Thats because theyre barely dropping their first DLC after 4 months

you gave me a link to a rumor?
