Forums - Gaming - Modern Warfare 2 takes steps backwards...why buy it?

the reason would probably be the fact that brainless monkeys like to sink their money into cash cow series and their friends have to follow because they want to play together. btw to the 3 post above, I played the PC version of WaW, I didn't see any of those problems, it's not Treyarch's fault that consoles are weak and they wanted to do more considering they were the same engine.

I take back all compliments i have ever given you!

Elitist! Small publishers like XSEED, Ignition, and Activision are the lifesblood of gaming!

Lack of EA in your post is disturbing.

Im not buying it because im tired of call of duty

- Granted, No nazi zombies sucks.

- No vehicles in multiplayer is good, because believe me, cheap bastards like to take tanks and get dogs easily in CoD WaW.

- No co-op in campaign is good, it keeps the thrill intact.Resident Evil 5 was supposed to be scary but the co-op ruined it. They did the right thing by implementing co-op mode separately from the campaign.

Modern Warfare 2 is nothing new to the fps genre, but it does what's best in the genre.

I didn't played WaW on co op and don't like Nazi zombies and vehicles so I don't really care much :).

Solid.

It has 10-12 new maps, the M4 Carbine, claymores and a new Gold Cross to aim for. $60 is a steal. If they somehow forget to put the rifle mounted grenade launcher in this time, it'll be the greatest game ever.

The reason I won't be sticking with WaW is because I hate the design of some of the maps, the weapons don't appeal to me, and the netcode just isn't up to par with COD4. Who says I won't be able to stick with COD4 though? I'll be playing my new maps from MW2 more, but if I ever got an itch for Pipeline or Strike I'm sure I'll pop that old bad boy in. If Activision were my best buddies ever though, they'ed charge me $10-20 and send the old maps over to the new game. Oh the glory of that!

I just don't really get the thread. Why does a game have to up the features to be worth buying? Why can't it just be an awesome new experience in an old formula?

Why would anyone buy Bioshock 2 or Half Life 3 ?

Because of an AAA campaign.
CoD, CoD2 and CoD4 had AAA campaigns and I'm sure MW2 will feature one.

I'm not buying Bioshock 2...... I'll get HL ep3 or simply HL3 for sure though.
