I'm strangely not surprised.
Pixel Art can be fun.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they will be very ashamed after all the money they'll make with this game..... Wii Sports didn't had online and it's still played by many people from time to time. IGN and many other people want online, but the mayority of consumers don't care or prefer the local multiplayer. The important thing is that this game gives you a lot of replayability, online or not, so a 7.5 doesn't seem fair to me. |
i'm sorry, but you're missing the point. i am a huge and loyal fan of ninty, but as a gamer, active in the gaming society who loves him some online, I just feel embarassed by this apathy and think that its a true lack of consideration from people whom I think hold there fans in very high esteem (or at least used to). its not about the profit, or the money. ninetendo could design a game based on smearing shit on a wall and it would still sell millions.
Its a question of morality, not financial success. They should be ashamed for letting the people like us down. But hey, we're getting pretty used to it, aren't we?

Because sales are not limited(well they are, but u know what I mean). Wii hardware is limited compared to HD consoles.
HD consoles vs wii is pretty even, so don't say stuff about not a big enough userbase. Multiplatform games still don't come close to some wii games unless it's cod:waw or gta4. |
But its still a current gen console, so it should be compared to the other current gen consoles on EVERY aspect.

Thats bullshit. TW on PS360 should get 5's then, lack of motion control proves how important its inclusion ultimately is to golf games.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
For what it's worth, IGN gave the original Sports a 7.5, and that was when it was the game that started the motion revolution.

Didnt the Wii version of TW 2010 score better than the HD versions?

I'm sorry you feel that way for not having online, but that was a game design. Sure, they could had included it, but the offline multiplayer may give an endless replay value to this game, so why a 7.5 for no online? I'm not talking about the overall score but the lasting appeal. They lowered the score because the lack of online but we know the first Wii Sports is still played today and will probably be played years later.
Should a game that offers the best online experience but no local multiplayer get the same score in lasting appeal? Even if it offers endless replayability? I think not. Online or not, if they have tons of replay value then they should have a better score.
Castlevania Judgment FC: 1161 - 3389 - 1512
3DS Friend Code: 3480-2746-6289
Wii Friend Code: 4268-9719-1932-3069

What about the design of the game makes it endlessly replayable?

Well, it's an easy to play, accessible, cute, for all ages, fun game. Just like the first Wii Sports, Tetris and Mario Kart for example.

So what.... you can say IGN is reviewing for their "hardcore audience", but some days ago there was a poll on IGN that asked about online gaming on the Wii, and "didn't care at all" had more votes. It seems IGN doesn't know their own reader's tastes. |
I imagine single player lasting appeal is poor, while multiplayer is great, so it puts it in the middle at 7.5.
