Forums - Nintendo - Modern Warfare 2 officially not heading to Wii

pretty pathetic

1) the COd4 engine is already on Wii
2) COD5 actuially sold well funnily enough
3) they could have made a tidy profict easily to fund the HD counterparts sequal.
4) I bought world at war, I wanted a sequal.

Want a sequel? Get a PS3 or 360

I'm seeing something of a self-fulfilling prophecy here. The Wii "only" managed a million or so sales of World at War, but most people are forgetting that the Wii version was, in many ways, gimped for no good reason compared to the PS360 versions (eg no vehicles, many multiplayer modes removed, halved max player limit, fewer maps, no nazi zombies, etc). For a game for which multiplayer has always been important, no less. If anything, I'm amazed it sold so much when even the gameplay experience was rendered so crappy compared to the PS360 versions. I would say the final sales figures weren't derived on anything close to an even footing, but I doubt anyone that IW would listen.

Super World Cup Fighter II: Championship 2010 Edition

Not a big loss,it would be the inferior version of the game anyway.

I will say that I expected this news over the past month. While early reports stated that A wii version was under way, the silence from march onward started making me suspicious, so I held out for E3. With no news on a Wii version at E3, I had a feeling that the team and/or publisher changed their minds.

I'm not sure if I'm going to get the PC version of the game, as there are just so many better shooters on the PC than the MW games, plus with Diablo 3 on the way, that's going to suck up a lot of gaming time. =)

Disappointing, but oh well.

Or just get Red Steel 2.  :)

-PS3/360 peeps get MW2 and the wii misses out
-Wii peeps get the conduit and the PS3/360 misses out

you win some you lose some, seems to be the nature of things this gen. So if you want either of the games, then simply get the console that corresponds, otherwise put up with the fact you'll miss out, move on and play another game you like.

It's the nature of the industry. Remember, the industry was built on exclusives, NOT multiplatform gaming. I say, if you really want to play the game that isn't coming to your system, buy the system it's on (if you can). Otherwise, don't complain about it.

Every game doesn't have to be on every system. What would be the point of multiple systems if every damn game is mulitplat....?

I never understood that ridiculous thinking...

T.H.A.N.K. Y.O.U.

I've been saying that for YEARS

Fixed, because Wii owners would be used to good control.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

It's not like the engine that IW created for the Wii is any good. For such a renowned and respected company that's supposed to be able to do amazing things, it's funny that a small time and often criticised company like HVS can create an engine that runs circles around the best IW could come up with.

Pathetic, really. If Activision and IW want their games to sell on the Wii, they need to start producing full versions with much better graphics. In other words, they need to give the Wii version the same effort they bring to the PC, 360, and PS3.

Well, the engine for the Conduit doesn't come close to "running circles" around what Infinity Ward has done.

But the main purpose of that bolding was: Valve and the PS3. Replace IW with Valve and "small time company"...with some PS3 developer (as long as the statement still holds true..I'm too lazy to name a developer) and it's the same thing. You win some, you lose some. It's time to get over it
