£  = pounds

The article you are referencing says the 40GB will debut at  £299.

£299 = $610 USD

£299 = €430 Euros

The price cut is indeed good if the PS3 is currently selling at £399 or €599.

so from what i understand 60 gig goes from 400 to 369 euros, and a new SKU is introduced at 300 euros.

From £425 to £300 is about a 30% cut! This is a far bigger cut than the US 'clearance sale' and that increased sales by 187% if I remember rightly. The PS2 came out for £299 and it sold like hot cakes from the word go, there is no reason this cant do the same.

I'll wait for the PS3 to hit $200 american before I even consider it's library. Same with the 360 (and for reliability fixes).

This topic is an irrecoverable mess. The current price of the 60 gig is 600 euros, and 399 (I believe) pounds in UK. According to rumours, the new model will have a price of 400 euros and 299 pounds in UK.
