Unsafe???? How is it unsafe? You dont get viruses by mistake, it's from people doing things they arent supposed to be doing. Like opening emails from people they dont know, or being on websites they shouldn't be. And if they get them it's their own fault.

What does Sony have to do with it? They launched an OP now??? Sony are nowhere in PC land, and all of their machines come with Windows as standard.

Windows 7 will win a few plaudits and win quite a few (non fanboy) people over, Apple is only on Apple, and Google is being adopted by hardware manuufacturers... for netbooks only, netbooks being used as web browsers mainly.

People want Windows to suddenly vanish... guess what? It wont.

Google have said they want to release it for laptops and desktops after the initial releases on netbooks. I think most are just excited at the prospect of a potential end to the monopoly Microsoft have in the OS market. Even if Google only managed a 15% market share people would herald it as a huge success.

Just look how Internet Explorer fell from the top, of course there are many alternatives though. And I find MS' attempt at owning Google with BING is equally silly tbh.

Even if the new Google OS is completely awesome and epic I don't think it'll sail in to the big ports and get a huge marketshare.

Im sorry, even Google won't hold a candle to MS here. We have seen how aggressive MS is in the console wars this gen and we have seen them take some steep measures to get ahead of Sony (rock bottom prices, rushing and RROD).

Now, this is their historic, central and most profitable business by a mile. Imagine what they will do if they are under a little threat.

Also this fight is working both ways. Anyone heard of Bing?
