Forums - Sales - Will sales numbers in the UK be adjusted?

I have a feeling they accidentally switched the 360 sales with the Wii sales.

The numbers are off, even an imbecill should realize that. Someone just quoted Charttrack's official numbers but mixed some numbers or made a typo.

I so wish the numbers were true, because it would mean that the X360 has got huge momentum, but sorry, they ain't.

You can quote me on this.

@kantor

that wouldn't be any less shocking considering Xbox 360 is meant to be "pwning" PS3 in the UK sales wise

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

The only numbers that appear to be off are the Wii and the DS. All the other ones are in line with their previous sales.

If the numbers are in fact correct then the Wii bubble didn't just burst, it blew up as bad as the Hindenburg.

should we not wait for clarification from charttrack before calling people imbeciles?

or is it standard policy to overreact to all things posted?

my solution is to remain relaxed and have a few brews maybe by monday we can have some clarification.

Pity I didn't received an email back (yet). Atleast they know about it.

The only problem with waiting for the shipment report to come in is that it doesnt break it down by country. What I mean is that the overall 360 numbers could be correct but the break down of each counrty could be wrong with vgcharts. I suppose at the end of the day it doesnt really matter but if you want things to be done right then these numbers do need to be looked at and not just the overall numbers.
Side note: Didnt both the 360 and ps3 have lots of bundles come out so far this year? Could be the reason for the sales

Thats good 360 will hit 50 million units in 2011.

as UK is a small market

overtracking/undertracking byt more than say 20K is worthy of an adjustment imo

UK is a small market?.........How did nobody else pick up this?

The UK performs better then Japan in the console market now days, does that make Japan a small market? In fact UK is now the 2nd biggest console market in the world.

Compare just 2009 sales

Wii = 822k in UK and 484k in Japan  = UK sold 338k more or 69% more then Japan.

PS3 = 282k in UK and 503k in Japan = UK sold 221k less or 43% less then Japan.

360 = 416k in UK and 198k in Japan = UK sold 218k more or 47% more then Japan.

PS2 = 101k in UK and 128k in Japan = UK sold 27k less or  21% lss then Japan.

Total for console sales 2009 = 1.621m Console sales in UK and 1.313m console sales in Japan. Meaning UK has sold 308k or 20% more consoles then Japan.

Considering Japan has a 127m population and UK has a 61m population that puts it in even bigger context.

So it would be interesting to know how you define small market exactly as im guess you are comparing to a country with a population of over 300m people?

I had never done the numbers on that, it paints a bleak picture for home consoles in japan...... does this chart hold up with handhelds?

and do you think after economic recovery this will change? japan has been hit harder then most other areas due to dependency on trade strong currency, and a national habit of decreasing spending in anticipation of hard times far more then any other major economy which slows down recovery of domestic market
