I saw a table on here listing how recent games had fared on PS3 and 360 and in almost every instance the 360 version of multi-plat games had sold better.  However, I checked and two of the best games of 2008 that weren't on the lists and that were from Western publishers actually sold better on PS3 than 360.

According to VGChartz sales data:

Tomb Raider Underworld sold 890,000 copies on PS3, 760,000 copies on 360, and 300,000 copies on Wii.

While the latest Prince of Persia from Ubisoft sold 800,000 copies on P3 and 760,000 on 360.

Tomb Raider was a mainstray of the Playstation 1 and 2 so it is not that suprising. Prince of Persia is more of an enigma to me.

they are more popular around Playstation users. same can be said about PES , Burnout , Metal Gear , Tekken , Final Fantasy.....ect

Yeah more populare for Tomb raider I agree. But don't forget the better quality of the 360 version, which in addition got DLC and bundeld in Europe. So It's pretty good for Tomb raider.

see, the source estimates that on average 280,000 to break even. clearly these titles needed much higher sales to do well. maybe its the difference between break even and success

Compertition there is more choice on 360! Up untill recently there wasnt anything decent for the ps3

Same with Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV and Burnout Paradise. The first two are thanks to Japan, I'm not sure why Paradise sold better on PS3- probably because it launched right after the PS3's best holiday season.

Final Fantasy XIII, Tekken 6 and MGS Rising will all sell more on PS3, as well.

Actually, Street Fighter IV for PS3 outsold the 360 version without Japan as well, so only Resident Evil 5 sold more on PS3 due to Japan.

Well generally, games that are more popular in Europe sell better on PS3, because for most major non-FPS games, the PS3 version will sell better in Europe, just look at PES and FIFA
