I predicted this in 2004 but I don't get paid a shitload of money to make stupid guesses.

Of course the Xbox 360 will eventually stay ahead of the PS3. Digital downloads baby. People are fed up with optical media and marketing failures. The Xbox 360 is millions ahead of the PS3 and it was still $350 this time last year and outselling the PS3 of this year. When the Xbox 360 gets another price cut it will tap even more markets and sell like crazy as the Arcade units the most popular SKU during the holidays.

Lol

I've got a question...

How the hell does he justify his prediction of the PS3 catching the 360 by the end of 2011?

Switch Code: SW-7377-9189-3397 -- Nintendo Network ID: theRepublic -- Steam ID: theRepublic

Now Playing
Switch - Super Mario Maker 2 (2019)
3DS - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Trilogy) (2005/2014)
Mobile - Yugioh Duel Links (2017)
Mobile - Super Mario Run (2017)
PC - Borderlands 2 (2012)
PC - Deep Rock Galactic (2020)

So, by the end of 2011 they will be tied? Won't the next Xbox be out before then?

In my opinion, if Microsoft stops supporting the 360 before Sony pulls ahead, then it would be a hollow victory.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I always thought he was a fanboy of Sony's to begin with. It clearly shows with his prediction selection.

I was wondering if this Morgan Company he works for ends in tied with JPMorgan..Which would make him a worker for Sony inverstors..

Not commenting on this article specifically, but I really have to wonder who pays these "analysts" and why. Most of the time, it seems they pull analysis out of their ass, sometimes with seemingly little basis in reality.

Did any analyst predict the Wii would "win" back in 2006? If so, he'd actually be worth his pay. All the analysts that have consistently predicted the imminent death of the Wii since 2006 are not. Nor would those analysts that from 1996-now have been constantly predicting the imminent death of Apple (though that seems to have mostly stopped.)

Seriously though, I'd love to see a single market analyst that predicted the rise of the Wii. About the only people I think that did were Nintendo fanboys, and most of them probably didn't either (I know I didn't see it coming).

Wow, I thought the Wii had potential to dominate.  I saw the price point, and thought that if the motion control worked well enough, it could end up on top.  I believed it could end up being everyone's second console (or first as a low end system).  I will say I did underestimate the phenomenon the Wii would be.  I did understand what Nintendo was doing though.  I also thought The Sims had potential to be huge.  And I though The Simpsons (when I first saw them on Tracy Ulman) had a chance to become something when it got its own series (years later, they had stamps made after them).

Anyone know how to get a Michael Pachter job?  I seem to be more on target with his predictions than he is.

I don't care who is first, second, OR third. All I know is that I want my games!! :)

Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"
