This is sad, but I blame Nintendo.
I could explain in about 3 paragraphs but I would be shot down and I can't be bothered with that.

I would like games like Fragile and Muramasa because I do enjoy those types of niche games. And they do seem to have good enough graphics. (Besides, I don't mind to buy a Wii because Microsoft said it would be a good idea way back in 2006), however, I also think games like Madworld and No More Heroes would sell more on 360, for example, because I don't think those are niche games like Okami, Fragile, and Muramasa, and No More Heroes and Madworld are the types of games that appeal more to the 360's audience than they do the Wii's. |
Really? Name one black & white 360 game.

Gears of War has a lot of black and white in it. Also, 360 fans love any bloody action games and there is a lot of blood in Madworld.
^If Gears is black and white for you then I think you should switch out that old tv...
Madworld would've tanked on any system. It's far too niche. God Hand flopped on the PS2.
Sad to hear about Arc Rise Fantasia but what can you do ... even "name" RPGs like Star Ocean 3 flop nowadays. The only RPGs that can sell are Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, or Pokemon.
I love Little King's Story and I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooove Harvest Moon. I wish people would buy these great games.

I just don't see how. And, I think the comparison to Godhand is erroneous. Godhand was based off of a very obscure anime / manga that dealt a lot with deformities which just isn't popular subject matter.
The difference between the niche appeal of the games would be Godhand would mainly appeal to Tetsuo The Iron Man and Marilyn Manson fans while Madworld
On the other hand, Madworld was heavily based on the look and themes of Sin City. And Sin City was a very popular film property that made over $150 million at the boxoffice. On the right console and with the right marketing Madworld should have done very well.

Sin City box office gross:
TOTAL LIFETIME GROSSES
Domestic: $74,103,820 46.7%
+ Foreign: $84,650,000 53.3%
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
= Worldwide: $158,753,820

You can't just translate Sin City movie sales into video game popularity. I mean, people compare Okami to Zelda (yeah, maybe it's less similar), and look how well that game did on the PS2.
The game is just too extreme (B&W style, gore) for most people to consider buying. Its short length doesn't help much, either.
