Games can look on par with each other graphic wise. But its the other little things that factors in it too. Like animation, and physics and so on...you can have a great looking game but have only a few characters on screen and little happening and poor rag doll effects. So to be honest graphics isnt everything. Jus hope that the game runs and plays good.

RE5 looks incredible, especially for a multiplatform. I guess I didnt play the demo long enough in fear of spoilers.

I have to get that game soon.

Are the screenshots in the OP Killzone or Brink? To be honest they are quite bad.

Textures are bland
Humans don't actually look like that. Look at the hand in the top picture. Now look at your hand. Notice how yours looks like a hand, and his doesn't. Look at the guys shoulder. This isn't even a question of technical power. it's basic anatomy!
Lighting effects are certainly nothing special. The Conduit has better.

Uncharted 2 > RES5 > Alan Wake > Heavy Rain > Uncharted > Killzone 2 > Gears 2

In part the heavy Rain videos go up and down....

I was very shocked to see the lack of details in the scene where that big black guy is beating the little white guy around..Really..The white guy is wearing a black blazer...Which is not buttoned...it seems to be stapled to his body and even when he is thrown around there is no motion in the jacket and never mind his tie.......In the Night Club the girls skirt again in stapled to her legs....

Here is the example...The video quality is unimportant since the clothes wont move anyway..If Heavy Rain is to be considered a Graphics King...It should clothing anitmation before it releases...

 

 

 

 

Here is Alan Wake from E3 09.....If the eviroments dont look Just as good a Heavy Rain and the Clothing animation of the Hoodie and the Jacket don't put the Xbox Graphics capability on par with Heavy Rain...Then I'm going to put my Sh*t Colored Glasses back on(IMO ofcourse I think Alan Wake is way better looking than Heavy rain...But that's nethier here nor there.)

2. I agree that there are parts of Alan Wake that exceed HEAVY RAIN, such as lighting and shadows. The scene in HEAVY RAIN with the FBI agent needs a tad more polish. Character models still look better in HEAVY RAIN though, but since Alan Wake has been my 2nd most anticipated game since June 2006, I won't knock it again.

There is the official E3 2009 trailer on PSN that really shows how HEAVY RAIN is shaping up, and it looks great. The Lagoon scene in particular looks really good too, it's just that FBI scene which needs a tad bit of work.

With the amount of polish Quantic Dream is known to add to their games, I expect the final product won't disappoint. It just annoys me when people who probably don't own, nor seem like they plan to own, a PS3 ALWAYS have something negative to say about it. It just let's me know where people's motives seem to be headed.

I posted the Alan Wake Vid after wards...Something about the VGC 2.0 made my browser funny...

Againg CGI......The lack of Clothing Animation in Heavy Rain is Crazy....the years of Dev time don't add up......

In Alan wake E3 2009 vid..When he steps out the house the ground is lower then the house...So when he steps out his hoodie shakes a bit...That is very realistic and his clothing in general have very good animation during gameplay....

My only problem with Heavy Rain right now is it's lack of Clothing animation......And yes I agree Alan Wake does Exceed Heavy Rain..Though unlike you I feel it goes farther than Lighting and Shadows but that's just my opinion

To your point about cloth physics, fair enough. I agree that it should be there, but the game's not finished bro. Perhaps it'll be a last minute addition

It's true it is not finished...But for Heavy Rain's sake I hope it gets implemented......If not....Alan Wake beats it with a year of Dev time still left for it...

A year left of dev time? HEAVY RAIN and Alan Wake are both set for early 2010 releases. There are aspects where HEAVY RAIN still exceeds Alan Wake, such as character models and acial animation. But if we were to go by dev cycles, Alan Wake should look VASTLY better than HEAVY RAIN, which it does not.

Remedy said while on stage during the MS Confernce at E3 that Alan wake was only a Year away....It was not annouced for Spring 2010....

Since the only game play and that is not a cut scene or a QTE of Heavy Rain,  that I have seen only have two characters..Im not Impressed...

The Night club scene had the most Models but they all looked stale IMO compared to the girl in the red shirt....

Facial Animation.....Righto....It's based on Motion Capture....So....It makes for impressive effects..But it's not anything new or revolutionary...WWE games and Sports game have been using it for a long time now...The PS3 is problably making it look fantastic and push many polygons...But In terms of Physics...It is not Impressive..it's just Motion Capture...

Alan Wake In your opinion does not look vastly better than Heavy Rain...In mine..It does....

I learned my lesson when I said the RE5 looks better than Uncharted.....They simply disagree....But ignore the facts....But alas beans...You must understand...Any game on Xbox 360 will never be graphically impressive..In their opinions..

Now as I said, RE5 wins in the character models. But in terms of environments, it doesn't hold a candle to Uncharted. Btw, have you PLAYED both games? If you haven't, I see no reason to continue arguing.

I have played both...And RE 5 on the PS3 only....And I still think RE5 looks better than Uncharted...But what does it matter if me and cool beans and maybe even more people think so..PS3 fans are just going to disagree

Forza3 seems to look okay, but comparing it to a shooter is pointless.

Splinter Cell is the worst looking out of all 5 of the games.

Alan Wake, seems to be a dead cert.

Assassins Creed 2, was the 2nd most impressive game at E3 visually. Behind only Uncharted 2.

That Forza video is blury and dosent really look that good at all.

But hey, no point in arguing if its an opinion. Each to their own i guess.

Sure Carl...Splinter Cell Con looks so terrible that Munkeh111 thought a real time cut scene was CGi....

Alan Wake owns pretty much anything on consoles with just it's enviroments...

AC2 looked cool...I guess...

Forza 3 only gets all this burn becuase everyone that does not own a 360 wants it to fail....

Stick to your RE5 sold better on PS3 argument....

I never said Splinter Cell looked terrible, i said it was the worst out of the lot.
