.........................anddddddddd thats another thread of these two useless games.

seriously who cares Milo is shovelware and Eyepet is shovelware

Is your definition of shovel anything that's not bloody and gory? Seriously, I don't get why people were "obligated" to buy games such as Mad World. We don't buy games just because they're gory, but because they have kickass gameplay, story, and everything else that makes a great game, well, great (e.g. God of War series). I'm not saying Mad World wasn't a great game, but my impression from the gaming journalists were that we were somehow obligated to buy this game, for the sake of it being violent? I buy games because of the gameplay, not because of the blood.

Otherwise why would I buy LBP? Why would people buy sport games and racing games?

IMHO, shovel ware is something made very cheaply and badly, sold in hopes of making a profit from uneducated buyers. Both of these (although Milo was implied to be more than it actually was, IMHO, but that's a different topic I hope no one derails this thread into), are obviously being developed with care, money, and time.

no , im not saying Shovelware is anything that isn't gory or bloody im seeing most gimmicky things are shovelware.

i dont think any of these games are going to be huge. (who buys a ps3 just for eyepet? , or who buys an xbox just for a virtual kid friend? )  so why make gazilion threads about them?

it is true that nintendogs did do good, but thats cause DS is owned by alot of Casual gamers.

How is the game gimmicky? It doesn't rely on motion control completely. If you're arguing that it's shouldn't be regarded as a game, under the definition of gameplay and game oriented goals, then you have some point, but to say that the two games are just completely reliant on gimmicks, and aren't being made with care, attention, time, and money is wrong. From my impressions and inferences from your language and tone, I feel like you're just grumbling against any casual games (hence why I went on that tirade against bloody and "mature" games, being classified as hardcore games).

There are plenty of traditional action games, with goals, with traditional gameplay, that have been made very quickly and very crappy. I'm sure that at least the EyePet (assuming that it's releasing this year's Holidays and the trailers truly represent the game) will be a very fun experience for the family, which is what a game is supposed to be about, fun.

The Sims, for example, had no goal, no winning and losing, and it too is a raising sim, is that a gimmicky game (ok, maybe it's a stretch for me to compare EyePet and Sims, lol)?

PLAYSTATION EYE--EyePET

1.) No Controller Needed (But controllers available) - Applies to Milo

2.) Some sort of visual recognition Via PS-Eye, be it Face or body i dont know. - Applies to Milo

3.) Voice recognition and Commands - Applies to Milo

4.) 3 Dimentional Snapshot (Draw picture, Show "Pet" Pet draws it, makes it a 3D interactive device...More on this later) - Applies to Milo Edited - 2d Snapshot applies to Milo, 3 dimensional wasn't demoed

5.) Reality Enviroment Recognition and Movement. (More on this later) - Applies to Milo

6.) Color Detection - Applies to Milo

7.) Player to character Interactivity. (More later) - Applies to Milo

8.) precise player to object interactivity (again more later) - Applies to Milo

Those are the Major Points for the EyePet.

Now There are a few MAJOR things that set the two projects apart. WE'll Start with, Virtual drawing.

The Enviroment(s)

This one will be short and sweet.  Milo's World...All Fake. - But it doesn't have to be, the pond showed the ladies reflection

Eye Pet World...hugely different story.  Its a mix of Real, and Fake. - Applies to Milo

First off, the PSeye Camera scans the room, and places the room on your screen...Yeah thats been done before so what?  heres the kicker...The room on your screen...Is 3 dimentional, just like real life...Confused? here.

In the EyePet vid above the camera focus shifts multiple times, and shows different Angles on several objects that you could not see form the original shot.

All the while you were able to add your own objects to the world+ the  objects the game puts in.

And another Huge thing, as the video shows, you can grab Real Life objects, move them around, and the "Pet" will interact with each item, depending on what the item is (He will pounce on rope and chew on shoes for example)...Thats very advanced and should drop anyones jaw and make them think of the possibilities.  This is in use with both in Game and out of game objects. - Lady moving water, scaring fish, applies to Milo

VIRTUAL SNAPSHOT

This is the catagory that really sets the two projects apart.

When Claire drew a fish and handed the picture to Milo, Milo simply took the picture and complimented Claire on the drawing, and acknowledge that it had Orange on it...Never once showing the pic back to Claire. - I'm pretty sure taking a picture and showing it on screen is something ANY CAMERA can do, are you really trying to imply that somehow this isn't possible with NATAL? It can't take a picture and show it on screen?

But the EyePet on the other Hand...took it to an entirely new level...

First the boy in the Vid drew 3 parts to an air-plane...Showed it the the "Pet" the Pet looked at it, picked up a crayon that looked to litterally be lying on the floor, re-Drew the exact image. showed it to everyone...Then...the part that made me go WOW...The image became 3D, Put itself together into a 3D air-Plane...and began to Frickin fly around the Room...that...still amazes me, its incredible. - Because the eyepet was specifically programmed to recognize the plane, would Eyepet recognize an ostriche if I drew one? would it than have the pet jump on its back and run around?

EyePet really Destroyed Milo in this regard.

Player to Character Interactivity

Heres the third and final reason the EyePet is more interactive than Milo...You can touch it..He reacts to where you touch him, by either jumping away, attacking your ingame arm, rolling over to be pet. and much more...You cant reach out and slap Milo for example...People have tried.

OH and one more thing...We will actually be able to play EyePet...Milo will never be commercially available. - EXACTLY!! Milo is a DEMO, want to compare the technology when they turn this into a game?

Both Milo and EyePet are impressive. But who wants to talk with a stupid little boy? Maybe if Natal choose Gisele Bünchen as virtual girl it change the tide of the battle.

milo vs eyepet winner eyepet
ps eye vs natal winner natal
ps eye + motion controller vs natal winner by far ps eye and motion controller

Ese es un punto muy bueno y estoy de acuerdo con usted por ahora. Nosotros nunca hemos visto realmente a Natal, en efecto,

I'm staying out of this one.

So to confirm, was "Milo" scripted or real? I keep hearing different stories.
