Forums - Microsoft - Not all users will have access to all of Forza 3 due to multiple DVDs.

It's not the games fault it came on 2 DVDs. It is Microsoft's. The game actually came up with a very valid solution. It's called required installs. The PS3 has been doing it for years.

I don't need your console war.

You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Are they still giving away cheap hard drives online? If not, then this really sucks for some people.

My god... You guys need to learn to think. First of all, the older arcades, those users needed a hard drive to install NXE. So those are covered. The ones that came later that include the 256MB, tell me which person who is considered a hardcore gamer, who would want to play simulator racing games, who spent most of his time online, is gonna get an arcade console without a headset and without a hard drive. If someone buys an arcade, the chances that he/she will be interested in Forza3 is simply small, because that is not the genre that one is interested in. The Arcade X360 is meant for casual gamers. Forza is NOT NFS carbon or PGR. It's a simulator, and casual gamers would prefer Burnout over Forza anytime. Besides, those people would never download movies, demos, and all of that stuff. Now tell me, someone who never does that, how can he/she want to play a simulator?

It sucks that you can't play the whole game, but if you want Forza 3, you are probably more than a casual gamer and you need a hard drive and Xbox Live Gold. I bet that 99% of the people who want Forza 3 have a Pro or Elite, or already bought a hard drive for their Arcade because they needed it for something else.

Okay, that there is so full of speculation that it's unbearable.

Why would anyone owning a Forza game be hardcore? Is every Gran Turismo owner a hardcore gamer? No, because some just like a realistic driving experience, you can't just assume that everyone with an interest in Forza will have a harddrive.

I just read his first sentance and then gave him a perfectly legit reason why his logic is flawed.

No you didn't. You put words in my mouth, and i already debunked your statement.

Your telling me everyone who bought a 360 before NXE came out has to download it? What if you don't have internet connection? So MS is really that stupid in castrating their user base like that?

You are right. Some people would want the realistic driving experience. But if someone is a casual gamer that plays a game once in a while, a few hours a moth etc instead of every day, do you think that one will care that he/she has less cars and less tracks? They'll just want the experience and wouldn't care if their 1986 jaguar roadster or whatever is not in that disc. They probably wouldn't even notice. And if they want it, then they'll buy a hard drive.

You call it speculation, I call it logical thinking.

Right, because these casuals are stupid, wont find out what that second disc is for and certainly wont find out that their $60 got them a game they couldn't fully play. Your logic is flawed.

Except they won't get it at launch because they are not in the hype of getting all new games on the day of release, but get it after it has dropped price.

It would be a better solution, if there wasn't 360s out there without harddrives. It's just that there happens to be.

I don't think that they are goina screw over arcade users like that.  I'm sure they'll find a way to make it work.

This is why M$ should have had a SD card slot on the 360..oh well...

I'm sitting nice and snug in my elite, and I am not interested in racing games...not one bit, but I know many are, and they really need to think this one thru...heck...offer a $89 Forza game with a 20GB HDD!

Okay, so people wont be pissed, because not a single casual racing fan will buy Forza 3 $60, and thus non of them will be pissed when they find out that their supposed full game isn't actually a full game. Dude, you're pulling this out of nowhere, you have NOTHING to back up your claims except "logic".

At the start of this generation, the PS3 was going to dominate. It was logical, seeing how the PS2 did.

Except it didn't happen that way.

I have little interest in XBOX Live or online play even on my PS3 for free. When I finally get a 360, it will most likely be a cheap arcade model. Why does that automatically mean I'm not interested in Forza or any other mainstream 360 game?

Keep this in mind when reading what I type...

I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.

Not interested in Forza 3 because of this issue okay but not interested in other mainstream 360 games makes no sense;..

@Rainbird & dougsdad0629:

I'm not saying there won't be arcade users that will be mad or will be interested. There will always be people who are mad or interested. There are even people that think this MS conference was the worst for example. My point is, that group of arcade users interested in Forza 3 is so small, that it won't be a large scale problem at all. You guys are making a problem of it, while you probably own a hard disk yourself, or you don't own an X360 at all.

Like I said earlier, if you want to use the additional content on the other disk, just get a hard drive, but the chances are you have one already if you're interested in the game. That's your responsibility because Forza is clearly focused on dedicated gamers, because a casual gamer wouldn't care if such a game has 50 or 500 cars. They just want to play and relax. If they are a racing freak they already would have a hard drive and a racing wheel.

They could've made that content downloadable, and arcade users would not be able to download it because of the lack of a hard drive or internet. And no one would complain about missing tracks or cars if that was the case, even if they were free. And suddenly it's a problem now? Sorry, but I simply don't see the issue. Most people would just say, get an internet connection and connect your Xbox to get the free DLC. Well, now I say, get a hard drive.

Anyway, consider this my last post. This is my opinion, and I guess this will be a never-ending discussion if we keep going. So bye.
