Forums - Gaming - My take on the "Next MGS"

Spedfrom said:

Look at the character's eyes. It is Raiden. Remember the fuss about his effeminate eyes when MGS2 came out? Kojima never remodelled his eyes, he made them darker. The eyes are of Raiden for sure.

Also, "Militaires Sans Frontieres" is a completely new institution in the Metal Gear saga. It means "Military Without Boundaries" which might indicate the happenings of the war machine after the downfall of PMC's in MGS4.

As for the Snake like character... Big Boss died for good in front of our eyes at the end of MGS4. As another poster has said before, it might be Solid Snake who somehow found a reversing cure for his rapid aging.

I hope for, and want it to be, a sequel.

i didnt say its a sequel i said its a Remake of the first game.

and i mean Metal Gear.

a 0, right?

The 0 is probably for 09 (2009) because you usually don't put 9 without the 0 if you talk about the year.

PS3

Re(make)

6/3/09

I have read that it is not Snake, because the patch is on the wrong eye for Snake, but the correct one if it was Big Boss, which leads some people to think that there will be 1 BigBoss game in Vietnam, and 1 Raiden game in the near future

@Spedfrom
That's definitely Big Boss.
Solid doesn't need an Eye patch. He uses solid eye on the left eye.
Big Boss got blinded on the right eye.

I want a sequel personally, Big Boss is one of my favorite characters (played MGS3 first)
Finding out that he wasn't the main character in the other MGSs was disappointing.

Edit: Damn you Munkeh!! I need to refresh my pages more. >_>

Assuming Pullus is right, and it is in fact Grey Fox, couldn't this be a remake of the original Metal Gear game?

I can't really guess what game we will see, the clues lead all over the place, but if we open the possibility of an MGS remake, why not and MG remake?

Well if it is Big Boss it can only mean a remake or a "midquel". Hopefully for the PSP! So we can have the near future Raiden game on the PS3. *high-pitched giggle*

Gamervision just had an article on whether or not it could be Sunny or Raidens son... with the white hair.

Yep, remake of Metal Gear, first Metal gear, not unlike most of people think that Metal Gear Solid is..

Take my love, take my land..

Basically, we are all going to be confused until Kojima enlightens us... which will be sometime next weem

Umm... Wasn't Big Boss older at the time of the first Metal Gear? Like, MGS4-old? Something like that? Judging by what I've seen, he was pretty old already and this picture doesn't seem like it. Besides, hasn't Kojima Productions already hinted there was more to tell about Big Boss, and the first Metal Gear doesn't exactly fit in there.

Oh, and I don't think Gray Fox looks like this - it's more like Raiden. It is also extremely unlikely they would have so similar suits (exoskeletons or whatever). That suit looks basically the same as Raiden's in MGS4. Of course we haven't seen much yet, but still. Not to say that couldn't be Gray Fox.

Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually two games, and I also wouldn't be surprised if we got two different periods in the same game (one for Big Boss, one for Raiden). Then we can't even be sure if they are Big Boss and Raiden: would Kojima really reveal them so easily after all this hype? Besides, two periods in one game would make the game a bit short and otherwise Big Boss and Raiden are pretty hard to fit in the same game.

And you know what? I just did a calculation earlier this day that indicates this last counter will actually finish May 31 (15:00 to be more precise, if I remember correctly) instead of June 1 in the US (PDT - L.A. time - E3 time) and June 1 in Japan - actually it seems to end on June 1 only in regions in time zones eastward from GMT+1. I'm not sure if I made an error of some sort... But anyway, my calculation was based on the fact that the previous counter ended today (May 27) at 4:00. The new counter, however, was 117 hours (at least I think so) - five days minus three hours (although that three hours isn't very significant), thus bringing the finish three hours earlier. So unless I've done something terribly wrong (it's possible despite my multiple checks; please tell me if I've made an error), it will actually end much before MS's press conference - the previous day even. Or is there yet another counter after this one? Who has the code for the site (I'm not going to get all the programs I need just to check that myself, and I saw someone post it here before)? That's not to rule out the possibility of a 360 release though.

And what's with the weather of that site? Just to create the right atmosphere?
