Actually, since Killzone 2 release PS3 was able to sell on PAR with x360, or even outsell, despite 400$/€ price. =)

This week inFAMOUS will move PS3 sales above x360 for some time, maybe for long.
So... it will be interesting. =)

In both US/Europe, x360 barely outsell PS3, which for 1,5 years still selling at same 400$/€ price.

x360 already LOST Japan, and when PS3 gets FFXIII+GT5 and 29,980￥ price, + later slim model, it will be outselling even Wii. Moreover, getting 19,980 price for x360 + 14,980￥(? even PS2 still cost more) for Arcade model, won`t help x360 against PS3 momentum much in that region.

x360 already LOST Europe, it`s main model selling for 239€, that only 40€ more, than 199€ pricepoint. Going to that level, won`t do a lot. While today, x360 barelly outseling 400€ costing PS3.

The only and last standpoint is NA, where 199$ price for main x360 60Gb model would spike sales, probably by a lot. But so, will 299$ price for PS3. At this point, i assume, both selling on same level, with maybe PS3 being a bit ahead, since 249-299$ is mass market price this gen, and entering to that level will give a bigger boost in sales.

That was mostly PRICE. Also we have a HEAVY system sellers like GT5 in all regions + FFXIII(mostly in Japan). These 2 games, are like another 50$/€ pricecut in terms of HW sales.
Other games like HR, U2, GoW3, MAG, R&C, Ico3 will compete with x360 titles.

So, the only momentum is left for x360, is 199$ in NA. But, that won`t be enough to stop PS3 momentum.)

So you're declaring Japan and Europe lost for the 360 but you're unwilling to declare the US lost for PS3? 

The gap in North America is at 8.75 million and growing monthly.

You can have Japan....But the PS3 is yet to take UK...With GT5 PS3 has a chance...

I think this might be a major problem even with a price cut. The customers differ significantly compared to other times. Blu-ray players will have an additional price cut. The recession will still be in place and it is simply cheaper to buy the Xbox 360. It is a complete gift. You don't care if the new owner will have to spend some money for online gaming or a new Harddrive. These are different gifts that might be in place for the birthday or something like this or they might be a good idea for grandma and so on. This is one of the reasons for this 200$ limit. I don't see the PS-3 crossing this line anytime soon. Everytime the PS-3 looses at chrsitmas it will lose support. There are more friends who already have the cheaper console and who might lend (or copy) you a game, there are more used games and so on.

@Legend11, in NA PS3 still cost 399$, while main x360 model cost 299$ -that`s a mass market price + Arcade model even cheaper - 199$(this takes some momentum from, when x360 60Gb model gets to 199$ price point).
x360 is outselling PS3 in NA for now, BUT not for like 2x time. It`s like 10-15k per week.
Yeah, x360 has that lead of 8 mln., that`s why x360 hasn`t lost NA, so far.

@Zizzla_Rachet, UK? where difference between main x360 60Gb model and PS3 80Gb is almost 2x time? I`m not even mention Arcade model.

You missed my point this time, i was speaking about x360 60Gb Pro model in that post, not the Arcade for 199$.

Why is the 360 sales going to suddenly take a nosedive when the PS3 is $100 cheaper? Like, it is supposed to tail off by at least 50%? Only reason why it might is that the major sellers are multiplatform games, and the PS3 ends up being less expensive. However, why won't Microsoft also slash prices and still be less expensive?

^ oh save it Crazzy .....Fact is...I'll take you seriosly when the PS3 outsells the Xbox..until then.....
