Even if true, I don't see this thing being responsible for a 30% increase in sales. Add in a massive price cut and the PS3 would beat the 360 in Europe, but I still don't think it would do enough in the US. People have realized that the PS3 is not the PS2.

It would increase the sales by at least 50-75% I bet

Sales would go from about the 120k weekly its doing now to about 180,000 to 210,000

I would guarantee Microsoft would respond with their own "XBox 360 Slim" for cheaper. 

A slimmer redesign doesn't necessarily mean a $100 price cut either. Sony is already hurting for losses, a $50 cut it more likely. The PSP redesign did not come with a price cut either. 

There will NOT be a price but or slimer design soon. If that happens, Sony will go further into lost and the Playstation Brand will collapse. Why would they do that? All of you hoping to get a cheaper PS3 should get a job and stop bitching. Stop with the threads jeez. If you don't have the money, don't play video games or get cheap consoles like Wii and 360. You get what you pay for people. At most Sony is going to introduce the 45nm unannounced.
