Hello John koller, nice to meet you :]
As an owner of all the consoles, I find myself using ps3 far more than anything else. Mainly its couse i'm a moviebuff and buy blu-ray movies by the shitloads. It really do help when you have a soundsystem that support DTS and a HDTV. Its only then you realise just how awsome blu-ray movies is.
Lately I've actually been blown away by the amazing DTS sound of Resistance 2. Its truly a testament to how much impact the combination of awsome gameplay, sound and visuals can come together to form an amazingly immersive experience.
I feel sorry for all the single console owners whom can never experience all the joys gaming have to offer.

go and buy valkyria
it's not only a tank rpg...
the entire story characters and other thighs make this game the best rpg of this gen

I remember the faces being heinous (especially the female sidekick... obviously only had brief interaction with her in the demo), the ferns you walk through immediately after arriving looking completely out of place (graphically... like they were just plugged in there from a different engine), and the backdrop of the first real shoot out looking like just that-- a backdrop. Then, I chimney jumped up some old pilars onto a kind of poorly rendered outcropping (it looked like it was jsut sort of anchored to the side of the screen) and punched the guy that had been shooting me from up there. The whole demo felt very boxed in, like Tomb Raider or the opening part of the first stage of Halo 3 (except Halo 3's plants looked like they were rendered by the same engine as the rest of the box you start in). All in all, it was EXACTLY like Tomb Raider, which is probably a disservice to the game, apparently. I did think that the wet clothes/dry clothes thing was cool, both in Uncharted and in Twilight Princess. And Tomb Raider. And like nine other games that had already done that. Basically, the demo did nothing for me, I deleted it and never gave it a second thought until talk of a sequal (to which I was like "Huh? Did that game actually sell?"), and suddenly I noticed everyone raving about the original. I guess I missed out. You did nail it on the head about the color stuff on the HD consoles, though... Resistance, Gears, Killzone, and a number of others seem to be entirely rendered in brown and three shades of grey. |
If the faces looked ugly, it's probably because your brightness was too high. All of the character models are brilliant, though I think MGS4 has the edge there. I didn't think anything looked out of place at all.
The demo does feel a bit boxed in, and indeed, so does the entire first half hour of the game. But it improves, and becomes less linear.
Explain to me how it was like Tomb Raider. Was he in a tomb? No, he was in a jungle (he doesn't stay there very long). The main character is male. The shooting works better. The graphics are better. The animations are better. The AI is better. There is a good cover system. The story is more interesting than the standard Tomb Raider crap. And it's longer, too.
I personally enjoyed the demo, but didn't think it was anything special. Then, I saw the reviews, and opinions of it from gamers, and I decided it needed to go on my "must-buy" list. I bought it, and I'm glad I did. It's my third favourite PS3 game.
Uncharted's wet clothes looked way better than the ones in Tomb Raider- they actually looked wet. And if only part of them was wet, only the wet part would look wet. They dried slowly, and eventually, you were completely dry again.

Its sad what happened with Gamecube. I think the reason why the PS2 is so fond of the PS3 boy is that hes a child of his own heart. Sure the PS3 is a slow starter but I think he believes in the untapped potential of the PS3 to do who knows what now, but in the future that potential will be realised. PS2 doesn't like how the Xbox 360 kids been spoiled by Xbox as well, too many people cleaning up after the messes that he makes or the diseases that he catches. Its like that kid gets away with anything whilst the poor PS3 kid barely catches a break.

If not for his grandpa Microsoft's money, the Xbox 360 would be getting nowhere. Although he is beginning to put some hard work in. He's even older than PS3, which a lot of people seem to forget.
I personally think PS3 will outsell his half-brother one day, if his own great grandpa (Sony) gives him anywhere near the support that the 360 gets.
Of course, Sony has quite a bit of faith in his great grandson; he believes he can work for as long as his adopted father.

I think Grandpa Microsoft is proud that Xbox 360 was able to break the cycle of teen pregnancy. If there wasn't hope for the next generation, he wouldn't have spent so much time and money ensuring that Xbox 360 had a good life. Xbox 1 was only very young when Xbox 360 was born, and thankfully this merciless cycle of young pregnancy and welfare dependency is coming to an end.
Great Grandpa Sony has a lot to be proud of as well. Even though hes having a hard time himself, he never forgets to be generous to others in need when he can. In a way his efforts though less extensive than Microsofts are far more worthwhile like the parable where the poor woman gave only a pittance and yet Jesus thanked her generous.
Tease.
Welcome to VGchartz!

I'd hardly call it a cycle. Grandpa Microsoft was 17 when he became a father to the Xbox, while Xbox was only 4 when he became a daddy- very young. I expect 360 will be around 7 when his son is born. I suppose he just wanted his son to have a better life than he did. And he was jealous of PS3 because his adopted father was far more successful than Xbox could ever be. Xbox's dad gave him everything he wanted, but Xbox wasn't as good as PS2, and he knew it.
I believe grandpa PS1 died just as PS3 was born... PS3 must think he's disappointed his grandpa, but he wants his father and immortal great grandfather to be proud of him. And his great grandpa isn't doing so well financially, even with all of the money that PS2 and PS1 have given him, his children from his first wife, such as Sony Ericsson and Vaio, aren't doing so well, and he's giving loads of money to PS3 as well, especially for the costly operation at his birth.

Your 360 had to beg your PS3 to let it blow it? That relationship sounds tough.

Shoots down the typical 'crackhead' statement, 'I'll suck yo ****!'...maybe his 360 has braces?
