 To be brutally honest, Wii must be in a horrible situation in Japan when even an MH3 demo can't give it more than a 4,000 boost. Nintendo need to act now...

I though the Wii numbers are going to be a little higher.
KZ2 did really good, almost getting 100% sold.

I agree to an extent. This should just prove that MH is simply a better game on a portable.

I am not worried as much for the Wii, it's just needs more games on a regular basis. You wont see such thing in 2010.

good numbers for the new software (MHG, KZ2, DS) and from a ps3 fans perspective nice to see it doing better than the Wii again, but ...

it's sad, that this "victory" is due to weak Wii sales, instead of strong PS3 sales ... that over 60% drop from the last weeks hw numbers really hurts in my opinion

Wii Music will save the P... Wii.

^_^ I wish someone would make a jpeg for the Wii in Japan just for the laughs oh-shi Wii is at 8 mil hardware O_o never mind.

PS3 at 21k, it could be carry over from last week, but if the Xbox360 could see a bump into at least 15k as a standard, then maybe console gaming could see a rebound in Japan?

Bigger drop off than expected for PS3 (i figured it would hold to about ~23k) and smaller rise than expected for Wii. Its pretty much official that the systems will be tied in 2009 until Wii Sports Resort releases sometime in June. Since Wii is trending positively into Golden Week through (up 33%) while PS3 is not (down 66%) Wii is probably going to outsell PS3 over Golden Week.

   This either means that Monster Hunter is still nowhere near as popular as Final Fantasy in Japan and people do not wish to buy a home console for it, or that Nintendo didnt really bother to make many hardware bundles with it like Sony did with ACC.

   Edit: There is a bundle with the classic controller, however, so ...

Famitsu usually has wii higher and ps3 lower than media create and the other japan sales source.
