Stop making these topics. Anybody with half a brain realizes that a few weeks of PS3 winning Japan doesn't even put it close to selling as many Wii's as have already been sold in Japan. The console war is over.

The PS3 has one (exclusive) shooter releasing in the rest of 2009 (MAG). The Wii has two (The Conduit and Red Steel 2)

As for the rest of YesWiiCan's comparisons:

God of War III is MadWorld? They have nothing in common, which leads me to think you've never played God of War. Also, God of War is better.

Killzone 2 is The Conduit? The Conduit will be lucky to be half as good as KZ2. Having pointer controls does not stop it being an average, generic shooter.

FF13 = Tales of Graces? How can that comparison even be made?

FF Versus XIII = Monster Hunter 3? I'm beginning to think you've done this by comparing genres.

Gran Turismo 5 = Mario Kart Wii. What?! You're comparing a driving sim to an arcade racer. I won't say one is better than the other, but aside from the fact that both have you driving some sort of vehicle, what do they have in common?

That is the most half-hearted, pathetic attempt to bash the PS3 that I have ever seen.

EDIT: It's amusing, though. Try Uncharted, MAG (256 player online, that is), Ratchet and Clank, Heavy Rain and Quantum Theory.

It's just the calm before the WM+ storm and the next AAA releases... nothing less, nothing more, despite what many wish or dream about...

Let's face it. This generation is starting to wind down. Sony is NOT going to "beat" Microsoft. Around late 2011, MS will probably be releasing its new box. When that happens, the "war" is over. In the end, I expect the two consoles to sell very similar numbers. The biggest difference, of course, being that MS went from a 20% share of the market to a split 50% of the home theatre market with Nintendo going off in their own direction (hugely successfully, thank all that is Big N). They've made HUGE inroads in both gaming and living room share.

Sony dropped the ball... badly. Let's all move on with our day.

Eh, I don't know I never played a Playstation 2 or Playstation 3 game. Nintendo for all 17 years.

You can't argue with that sound logic, so I won't even try.

LittleBigPlanet being Mario wasn't bad, but Uncharted and Zelda have about as much in common as Wii Sports and Killzone 2.

EDIT: Yes, MadWorld and God of War III are about killing stuff. Like Killzone 2, CoD4, The Conduit, Doom, No More Heroes, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Jak, Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden. And Rayman. And Crash Bandicoot, and X-Blades, and Wanted:Weapons of Fate, and Red Faction: Guerilla. Is Ninja Gaiden a substitute for CoD4?

Pokemon Stadium 3 for the Wii and a Zelda Wii are enough for crazy wii sales.

A new Resident Evil game, a new Tales game a monster Hunter game etc. Wii is THE winner this gen.

If LBP ever comes close to the pure platforming awesome that is a franchise Mario game, let me know. It's a damned fine game, though.

Personally, I'd take R&C over Pikmin any day of the week. The Japanese often differ with my tastes. This is one of those cases.

GoW vs. MadWorld? Really? Are these the best Sony-exclusive franchises you could come up with?

If you want to compare, look at GT, Final Fantasy, MGS, etc... Why are you bothering with three franchises that have a hard time breaking 1-2m?

Let's compare "arty" games, just for fun... Mad World loses to Team ICO, Conduit loses to well, everything... Wait, let's stop here. This inane comparison is giving me a migraine.

It's not over yet. Especially not if the success of Yakuza 3 gets Sega to work on a certain 3 part of a franchise that fans have been hungering for since 2002 coming exclusively to the PS3 and on top of that Kojima gets to work on bringing a bigger gun than either MGS or ZOE to the PS3 in the form of the third game in the Snatcher / Policenauts series, and the success of the FF games gets Square to bring KH3 to the PS3 too. This race isn't over by a longshot if those things happen. And the longer it goes, the better it gets for the PS3.

Yes, one week changes the Wii's status in Japan. It outsold the PS3 nearly every week for roughly 125 weeks but this is the turning point.

Come on, people... Accept reality. Move on with your lives. This doesn't matter.

You may see a trend, I see a blip left out by Nintendo's weak offerings for the past year. It's amazing they've ridden this high for so long. Besides, these months don't matter. Wait until Nintendo releases "Wii "Get On Your Ass and Dance with One Button" next August and see how sales spike right back up.
