Anyways we already had the announcement long ago that there were 1.1M pre-orders in Europe+Others, of course retail pre-orders. Now we have "SCEA" saying they sold over 1M copies, obviously meaning shipped again as everyone has always said it meant. Plus this is SCEA, I am pretty sure they are talking about America sales. |
My thoughts exactly...

Very hard to believe. Especially being that we know how well its has sold in the UK. (Close to 200k)

Do you really think Sony would leave out 400,000 consoles from their announcement? I mean seriously?
Do you really believe that?

so this entire thread is wholly based on a single assumption that "over 1million" means "just over a million". you must truely despise sony to look so deep into it, but neverming, for your gratification we will agree sony are lame, kz2 has sold approx 1mil and no more and anything else you may discover.

Well Gears of War 2 has been played by 2.7m people online, which is just under half its sales, I find it hard to believe that 90% of Killzone 2 owners have played the game online, there are only 17m (maybe 19m) PS3 accounts to over 22m sales, so that percentage does seem off |
I think it depends form game to game. I mean gears 2 online is not really the major draw. Halo 3 would be a better example...However I wasn't able to find a total number of halo 3 players online.
This is the best I could do... http://www.gamespot.com/news/blogs/sidebar/909182374/26848073/154-million-halo-3-players-kill-10-billion-covenant.html
Didn't Sony also announce only a week or so ago that they sold over 500k in America? Stating that it was the fastest to cross the 500k mark?
Now they were most likely talking about sold to customer there, so if they only shipped 1M Worldwide that would mean that I would have major trouble finding a copy in my American retail stores wouldn't it?
Or did they ship 250k to EU+Others?
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

What?! What do people play it for then? The 5 hour campaign with a terrible story?
