The individuals themselves and the society can shake up my $1000 profit for each person cured. It's totally worth it for a horrible illness.

Plus with all the money from option A I get to choose myself whoever I want to donate money to, instead of just helping random strangers with option/company B.

I think there has been some misunderstanding int this thread actually. You yourself get a $1000 for each cured patient with A. The company want to shake down people because they know the have to pay it if the value their lives. They will go for A LOT of money, maybe tens of thousands of dollars.

Even if it's $50,000 for each cure I'd take option A. It's their problem, not mine. I get a chance to become rich lol (plus I can help whoever I want with the profit as I said above, only people I have sympathy for). Let the altruistic persons in the world pay for the poor sick people through their taxes or free donations or whatever.

I would donate $50,000,000 from my profits to Bethesda  so they could make a really awesome Elder Scrolls.

Nah.  I've said before i believe medical care is a right, so i'd be a total hypocrite here if i became part of a system which stratified care according to wealth. 

If you ever get the chance to walk around an oncology or respiratory ward, do it and then tell me you'd  be asking for money before you help those people.

p.s. I'd make my money by going on Oprah, and promoting my new book and associated movie about how i saved the whole damn world;)

Why should I answer your question with canned answers that I would never do?

I would sell it for 5 million to each company that wanted to buy it, and I would not allow it to be exclusive.

After 10-20 companies bought the patent from around the world, I would be rich, and everyone would get the drug. (I am sure several philanthropists would buy it and give it to there charity drug company of choice)

Why does company b want to buy the cure. It's your patent so if you're not in for the money why not give it to every company.
