Pokemon for the following reasons...
Games.
Trading Cards.
Anime.
Manga.
Films.
And probably countless other things ive missed on that list.

But i agree with the OP... The Sims is massive, imagine the sales for it if there was no Pirated games.
My list goes Pokemon > Sims > Mario

Not to mention the theme park in Japan! Seriously, how crazy is that?

Pokemon has definitely done an amazing job finding success in many different areas.

OK, just as you know, I mainly talk about super blockbusters in gaming. Did Pokémon start as a game, does anyone know?

Yeah Pokemon was a game first... then it got transformed int owhat it is today.

And as wfz just said, there is even a Pokemon theme park...

And ill just add that Pikachu is more recognisable than Mario, anyday of the week.

The Sims 1: Basegame + 7 expansion packs and Sims Online if you count it.
The Sims 2: Basegame + 8 expansion packs and 8 stuff packs (9 if you count the Holidays limited edition one).

Console spin offs: The Sims, Bustin' Out, The Urbz, The Sims 2, The Sims 2 Pets, Castaway and My Sims.

PC: Life Stories, Pet Stories and Castaway Stories.

The Sims 3 coming out in June...

I find it irritating when people say it sold so much because of all the expansions and spin offs but are totally fine with Mario... Which has way more spin offs than Sims do.Also every product is unique and ADD new gameplay. This is essential.

Having only the basegame is boring and being able to have more stuff to do is always welcomed by Simmers. And no they can't include everything in the basegame. It already takes them over 4 years to do it, imagine if they were to include everything. Also it's called business. They wouldn't do as much $$$ if they did that.

Anyway, with that said, it sold very well and very much considering how many games they've made. And yes it is a big franchise, anyone denying this is very deluded. This game has one of the biggest community ever from modding the game to only talking about it. It's such a lie to say it isn't huge.

Ask a little boy these 2 questions:
1. Do you know Mario Bros.?
2. Do you know the Sims?

You'll see who is most popular. Of course, MARIO!!

MY ZELDA COLLECTION

ahaha the sims did not sell 100 million copeis of one and 2. they sold a hundred million copies of 1, 2 and all their bullshit expansions (like all 10 of them)

I happen to love their "bullshit" expansions which add new and fun gameplay.

To be fair, that just means that Mario is more popular in the "little boy" demographic. :P

I do think that Mario and Pokemon are more recognizable throughout the general population of the world compared to Sims, at least in America. That's just what I think.

This is more of a reply to your last post lolita, but you don't think the Mario spinoffs added much to gameplay compared to the Sim's expansions? Considering that almost every single Mario game is different, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around that, so I just wanted to make sure I didn't misinterpret your original post in this thread.

Yeah, but look at The Sims. Only 2 games in the series and started in the 21th century and already over 100 million. Not even Pokémon nor Mario can contend against that, in my opinion.

Don't those two games include sales from the multitude of expansions?
