The way I see it, if you can go to war and die for your country at 18 then you should be able to have a few drinks at that age too.

Technically 18 but no one enforces it. I've bought and consumed alcohol at sub-10. I'm fine. In fact I'm far better off now than if I hadn't been drinking at that age.

Well yeah drinking age is 18 in both Poland and UK (countries i lived) but it never stopped me and my friends since we were about 13-14 from buying it in smaller shops. And i still like to drink but i think because of my previous experiences im much more reasonable with booze then i was in the past.

1) In the UK you can drink from the age of 5 at home with the consent of your parents. You can be bought certain drinks at the age of 15 in a restaurant as long as it's accompanied with a meal. You can buy what you want at the age of 18 (legal adult).

2) I say that age of legal adulthood should be 17. Simply because you can already drive and go into full time employment at that age, anyway. So yeah, reduced to 17 (not that it really makes all that difference).

I mean, really, what's the difference between a 17 and 18 year old, anyway? I go to college and I cannot tell who's older between the two.

Yes you can die and go to war at the age of 18, but I think it's too soon after getting your drivers license. Drinking and Driving is too scary.

How about allow drinking before you're allowed to learn to drive.

In my province of Ontario its 19. In some provinces (Quebec, Manitoba) its 18.

Its fine where it is. Maybe a countrywide 18 year age would be cool.
