Explanation for a sudden 20k drop? Supply along with bad tracking are the two best explanations.

OK. Just don't come running with "lulz damage control1!!!111" the next time Sony fans post something similar to this.

What he is saying is true though, 360 kicked PS3's butt last NPD so why would they be so close all of a sudden?

Either its been undertracked or there are supply issues. Sales don't just drop off like that.

Im guessing you havent read my post at all.

hard to see the ps3 win next week but if the ps3 gets a price cut(although thats not gonna happen) then it definitely will stay above

Being a cricket fan is much simpler and more fun

PS3 isn't going to win NA anytime soon, but as long as it stays within 10-15k of the XBox360 till it eventually gets a price cut things aren't too bad...

PS3 had a huge NA centric title released recently too ( KZ2).
So the argument that the PS3 doesn't have good FPS games kinda went down the toilet....

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

I don't expect those consoles to be close at all during this months NPD. $100 price cut and simply no doubt in my mind that PS3 will leave the 360 behind in all regions.

I think the 360 price cut has worn off, and those who want PS3s are getting them regardless of the price as they have since its launch

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

will you be sad when it doesn't? :(

Remember, this industry is incredibly unpredictable. 360 price might get cut at the same time.

yes i dont expect to outsell til the ps3 price cut.

Why is it when the 360 sales start to die off it is always a supply issue (look at the sales threads for the first half of 2008)? As long as we are speaking anecdotally, I was in a Gamestop and Best Buy yesterday and there were plenty of Pros/Arcades/PS3s.

Don't you think it is more likely that sales for the 360 are starting to stabilize after the massive price cuts last December? I think this is a major problem for the 360 because they can't just keep cutting the price to improve sales. Yes, I know MS has infinite resources, but price cuts can have a negative effect by diminishing perceived value of the system.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.
