Yeah i know that there are some good Wii games out what dont include them 3, but there aint a lot of NEW IPs, thats what im talking about.

No, there are some more new IPs on the Wii, but I strategically left them out because I didn't want to get into a "minigames are shit" argument. The other consoles are ripe full of sequels also. New IPs are few and far between, and even those that are just become franchises anyways, putting them in the same boat as Mario, Link and Samus the moment the sequel hits.

Good thing you got a DSi though. If you want to see new franchises from Nintendo, that is where to look. You'll also find a gang bang amount of original IPs from tons of third party developers too. There's nothing like it on any other console or handheld.

I highly agree with you on the DS, the main reason i bought it was for the amount of different games/genres that it has. Blows the PSP out of the water imo.

Just you wait. You might come to find it blows everything out of the water.

Nintendo ass kissing on here is pathetic.

If they are so great why can't they make a sim racer or action game like GOW, why is it Resistance out sold Metroid by more then double ?

sony generally it'a cult hit console.

look at ico and shadow of colossus.

their most main stream game are, gran turismo, god of war and now killzone and lbp.

+1 Most people do not get it, obvious this gentleman does. Wii really only makes three iconic games and two of them have mario in the title so this alone makes most wii 1st party games reek of lack of creativity.

Metroid prime, super smash bros, excitebots, punch out and Zelda say hi!

It's very easy to leave games out isn't it...

Ps: So, you say that super mario galaxy isn't original? Killzone 2 is soooo creative right?

Sony was always in the habit of coming out with sequels too quickly.

Sony games have no casual appeal. Theres no gimmick or impulse to buy. Unchartted, killzone , socom, siphon filter, and ratchet and clank are all face less games that EA churns out year after year. Gears of war has the "awesome fatalities and curb stomps". Halo has the star wasrs ish nerd boy appeal, Fable has the changing worlds, Nintendo has the "nintendo magic". Sony games dont have "magic" they have a 30 year old fan base of people who warshipped the PS1, but to everyone else, there obsolete.

Little Big Planet?

But I think they should have kept Crash.

warner brothers owned 20% of naughty dog. so when sony bought them they had to give them something in exchange for the 20%.

microsoft did the same thing with bungie and take two.

Microsoft bought Take Two? since when?

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Nitnendo clearly have a history of re-using franchises for their console iterations , clearly more so any other hardware maker in history , this shows an unwillingness to be completley creative and try entirely new things , it's a very risk concious strategy.

There's nothing new about the motion technology inside the Wii , I could argue they "ripped that off from who ever invented it" , but all of us know that innovation is not about making something totaly new , innovation is the application of exisiting ideas in a different way .

"Yes, 2006 on has been the least innovative period for Nintendo in their history."

The answer to your reply is in the first statement of the paragraph you bolded. Every single one of those titles you used to illustrate your point has been released since 2006. And I agree that since then Nintendo has just done rehashes. And Nintendo was wrong to do it. I hate the Pokemon Ranger series, I hate Metroid Prime Hunters, I hate Mario Super Sluggers, I hate Mario & Luigi RPG - in short, I too hate all of the spinoffs.

The person I quoted claimed that Sony had innovated in small ways and I challenged him to prove that. I see not one single new concept or application from Sony since the PS3 launch except in LBP which I conceded.

While I understand you don't like those sequals, I think you discounted the Wii series as Nintendo not trying to do something new. Wii Sports/Wii Play, Wii Fit and even Wii Music are all Nintendo's attemp to do something new and not rehashes from earlier generation.
