Right, because Xbox people are allergic to colors and only play gory shooters. That's also why Viva Pinata was a commercial failure.

I can tell you are kidding. But for anyone who actually believes that, think mixed and bright colour pallette, think Halo.
I just felt an irrepressible urge to express that.

Wii: 80-85 Million end of 2009 (1.1.09)
| BTFeather55 said: I guess it depends upon what you're looking for. Games like Gears and Halo III sell in large amounts on the 360 while games like Madworld and No More Heroes that would pass 1 million on 360 don't do so well on Wii. On the other hand games like Brazt Party Babies, Wii Fit, and jrpgs sell much better on the Wii than they would on the 360. |
No... no they wouldn't have. All you need to do is look at past sales trends from those developers.

Godspeed, Kasz. Godspeed.
Interesting factoid about the Wii platform.
It has delivered 288,419,313 units of software.
Of those, 85,460,000 have been bundled with 1st party hardware of some description.
Therefore ~30% of all software delivered on the platform has been bundled with electronic hardware. I excluded the Mario Kart plastic bundle because including it would have been stupid.
Nintendo has delivered 145.5 Million units of software for the platform, (Using just the million seller list because I wanted to make this quick) and of that ~59% of the software was bundled with electronic hardware.
Isn't that interesting?
Nintendo loves the hardware bundle!
Tease.
I could sort of see No More Heroes passing a million on the 360, considering that it sold sort of well on the Wii. If it had a ton of hype and had the sandbox elements emphasized, it would be possible. Madworld seems unlikely unless the developer drew a connection to the Madworld commercial for Gears of War.
| Zlejedi said: 360 is on the bottom of this chart becouse of a number of units that have been bought as replacment units (or spare ones for repair period) for RROD and those X360 owners who don't like paying for their soft :D Also It's still only a partial picture as we don't have comparision on how many used games or rentals are in the hands of owners of those 3 consoles. But in the all those graphs, tie ratios etc are only tools for our fun - what matters to developer is PROFIT and nothing else. |
The whole point of this was that it is much better than tie ratios. It shows us how often these console owners are buying new, retail games. That is what makes publishers and developers profit. Not rentals, not used games.

PC - Borderlands 2 (2012)
PC - Deep Rock Galactic (2020)
Actually its funny, if you look at software released outside of bundles, Nintendo controls as much of the software market that Microsoft does, and the Xbox 360 is considered the benchmark for first/third party software ratios.

I like wordplay as much as the next man, but do you really think that could sell hundreds of thousands of games?
I admit that's an awesome commercial, and a great song. But the song would have to do its own work, not by connecting it tenuously to Gears.

I was pretty much kidding on that one. Then again, you never know. The market can be fairly unpredictable.
