Forums - Sales Discussion - Warhawk 107k- Lair 92k/ STRANGE numbers

@ ceres

I've noticed plenty of people that were hailing Lair & Heavenly Sword a few months ago quietly shift focus on Killzone 2

IMO Lair and Heavenly Sword are definately important titles as they are PS3 exclusives. But for me personally like I stated months before the first public demonstration of Killzone 2, Killzone 2 and Ratchet and Clank Future are my most highly anticipated games of the PS3 titles known about publically.

Though I understand GT5, FF and MGS may have a bigger impact than the titles in which I'm personally most interested in, they are the big game series people seem to talk about most (at least until the Killzone 2 demonstration) and have an impressive proven track record. Lair is new and far more experimental.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

Lair is experimental?  Really?

Good sales for US only and retail only. The box version is released 28thSeptember07 in EU and its PSN only in JPN so you wont be able to track Warhawk very well at all unless every body gets the retail version which they wont.Lair sales are good aswell considering the awful reviews i think the sales of both will exceed 200k in 4 weeks....easily.

End of 2014 Hardware Predictions (03/03/14)

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

Lair's failure has nothing to do with Sony, factor5 screwed up. They had all the time in the world to make the game good and they screwed up. This would be like blaming Nintendo for having all the crappy PS2 ports for the wii and games like boogie.

Except (of course) that LAIR IS PUBLISHED BY SONY

 published and developed are two different things, and dont bring up the whole "Does Sony look at the games they publish?" thing as all 3 companies dont look at their second party games, they just publish them and hope to get a big pay off.

maybe you guys were to quick to point out lairs failure, eh? its actually getting good word of mouth on the PSN. People just say the controls have a steep learning curve but once mastered its a very fun game. next few weeks will be interesting.

What are you talking about?

Second party developers recieve tons of resources (financial and technical) from their publisher in order to produce high quality profitable games. It was a common event to have Miyamoto (or other Nintendo producers) visit Rare, Retro and Silicone Knights and give input on the games they were developing whilst these developers were second party developers for Nintendo; one of the main reasons that Metroid Prime so closely resembles Zelda and (in ways) Mario was from direct input from Miyamoto.

The only reason companies like Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony enter into second party relationships with developers is to secure high quality exclusive games; if they do not influence the outcome of the game they are certainly not doing their job.

You nintendo fanboys are all the same YOU GUYS ARE AFRAID SONY TAKES THE THROWN AGAIN. This is why your attacking with negativity.
