Well, it's not explicitly written, but since they're both turtles, they must have evolved from some ancestor pokemon, making them related genetically.

Makes perfect sense.

Funny I've always used Fire or Grass (Bulbasar Blue, Charmander Red, Chikorita Silver, Torchic Saphire, Chimchar Pearl) but I used the water pokemon in Platinum

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

it is so easy to loose hundreds of hours on a pokemon handheld game. I've logged 50 hours on Pokemon Platinum already.

For me, its Red.

I got Red and Blue at almost (if not) the same time. Then I got Yellow. And I got Pokemon Stadium for the N64.

I progressed about half way through Red. I probably ought to restart it.
