This is your best thread in quite a while. In fact it could well be in the top 3.

That's more of an insult than a compliment.

Also, this thread didn't take long to materialize, it was almost a casual effort. Less is sometimes more it seems.

So true... this thread is even better

"All those excuses are lame and have no base in reality whatsoever. When a game doesn't sell a million units, it's the fault of the userbase who prefers to buy crappy games over quality."

I disagree with this 100%. When a game doesn't sell a million units, it' the fault of the game that can't appeal to it's consumers. Seriously, why would you blame the consumers for not buying a product? Many people didn't buy a PS3, is that thier fault? No, the PS3 is just NOT what the consumers want.

It is the consumers that determine quality, not those who make it. Customers will buy what they feel is the best thing for them to buy. If you think customers are stupid then yo're obviously not going to be able to successfully run a business very long. You DO NOT make games for yourself, you DO NOT make games for the press, you make games for the customers, your audience.

The fault is entirely on the 3rd parties, who have no idea how to sell to Wii owners. But that's okay. It's alright to have experimental failures. As long as they keep trying to understand the Wii Market, the third party failures are ok. But most 3rd parties are frustrated, scared, or ignorant of the Wii and refuse to learn how to sell to the Wii Market. They're only hurting themselves. As long as they keep trying they'll find out what the Wii audience really wnts, and they can capitilize on those values and standards, and they will sell millions.

i agree but honestly how many more mini games collections can they continue to make. I dont mean to troll but everything that seems t sell on the wii is either a 1st party nintendo game or a 3rd party collection of minigames. But the blue ocean dosnt seem to buy any "hardcore" games so how much longer can these 3rd parties keep this up? any ideas?

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

Games from 3rd parties that aren't minigame collections and have sold over a million units on the Wii:

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

Guitar Hero: World Tour

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga

Sonic and the Secret Rings

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

MySims

High School Musical: Sing It!

We Ski

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08

Rock Band

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles

Smarty Pants

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Red Steel

Call of Duty 3

Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures

Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Trip

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All-Play

Call of Duty: World at War

^ ok ill give u that (sorry i just couldnt think of any good titles) XD my bad. but thats still a very small percentage of the total 3rd party games overall and the highest sellers seem to be the minigames plus alot of those (Guitar Hero and Call of Duty) had HUGE brand recognition and carried that over which helped boost their sales.

Im not trying to fight im just trying to state my views sorry if i sound like an ignorant PS360 gamer

I acknowlege third party failures WHEN THEY FAIL, not when they succeed. The idea that all third party titles can be covered with some blanket statement is assinine.

The total percentage of third party games that will be million sellers will ALWAYS be small because the overall percentage of million seller titles is small, period. And all million sellers tend to be overrepresented by titles that have huge brand name recognition - that's part of the reason they are million sellers. Titles with no following don't tend to generate sequels.

I'll make you a simple question to answer yours: please point out good 3rd party efforts that didn't met expectations on the Wii.

Because the point is: some devs think that their costumers are stupid... but they're not! If you tell me that crap 3rd party games are not seling, I agree.

Well, if you want a Wii thread to succeed it has to be casual. Wii owners don't read hardcore threads, you see.

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

lol ill quit now. Im too lazy to back up my responses. Good day gentlemen *tips top hat and bows*
