Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo: DSi-only games on their way

Hmmm, I can't afford a DSi s this is a bit annoying. I need a new one anyway, I have to tape the cartridges in now because they keep springing out by themselves and my original lives at my parents house.

Does anyone fancy giving me any money?

Exactly.... there may be some games that uses the camera, therefore, can only work in the DSi. But come on, Zelda would be standard... every single DS would be able to play it

This pisses me off. My DSL isn't even a year old yet!

Why do they have to make some games completely unplayable on the older DSes, just because of a few minor hardware differences, most of which don't have anything to do with the actual games?

This is the same shit they pulled with the GBC, and it's what kept me from re-entering the handheld market for so long. They basically force people to upgrade, turning each generation into a few min-generations that each require new hardware.

At least Sony isn't doing this with the PSP (yet)...

`^^ Then Why not either release the Next Generation now or wait 'till next/2years from now?

Nintendo's Cycle:

DS = GB.
DS Lite = GB Pocket.
DSi = GBC.
DS?(^2) = GBA
DSX = GBA SP
DSMicro? = GBMicro
???????? = Nintendo DS

You've just deciphered the future of the DS. Congrats!

It's not a "cycle" until the entire thing has actually happened more than once. This isn't even pattern recognition, you're making blind shots in the dark.

It's a given that the DSi is meant to appeal to more upstream consumers in the same way the Gameboy Color was, but that does not make it a hardware equivalent and it certainly doesn't mean that more revisions are necessarily going to follow.

there's definitely DJ Max Technika DS(since pentavision announced that it will use storage and camera) and maybe some new Guitar Hero/Rock Band game with DLC.

This is a bit of a joke.

I'm seriously losing all faith with Nintendo. *Ponders selling DS for a PSP*

One day, people will realise: the DSi is *not* a DS - its a NEW handheld. Just because it happens to play DS games... the Wii also plays GC games - but so what?

Don't worry. Wait till the next Pokemon becomes *DSi* only... then you'll all understand the strategy.

tell me something.

Why did you buy the DS instead of the PSP in the first place? Aside from it being cheaper, I mean, ignore that for a moment.

Let's no jump to conclusion and wait for more info. We're still in March!
