If Nintendo were to make new Zelda game DSi exclusive. You will expect massive lineup of soccer moms returning the game after finding out their son/daughter's DS won't play it.

 

which leads to... massive complains.

 

 

So, why would Nintendo risk that? Better make Zelda game with minimal changes (no main use of dual touchscreen or camera).

 

Heck, Nintendo has been pulling this for years... just look at Pokemon franchise.

Has this ever happened?  I owned several GBC games and they all worked on my GB.

Early GBC games were normal GB games enhanced to work on the GBC. Later on there were actual GBC games that wouldn't run on a Brick or a Pocket.

Fair enough.  I didn't know about that.  Anyway, Squall was right and thanks for correcting me.

Not silly, when I've let people use the DS, some try to poke at the top screen. xD

so..... what's the attaction of DSi again? 0.3mp camera? 55mhz processor boost? 2mb ram increase? 0.1 inch increase in the screen size? i'm just shooting in the dark here

How about DSiware and DS virtual console...

and this couldn't be integrated into the current DSL due to.... limitation??

As a DSL owner, I fail to see why I need to shell out 50 bucks (even more if I trade in my DSL) for absolute minimal improvement.

There's no way in hell they'd make the new Zelda DSi only.

Most of these "DSi" only cartridges probably won't even be games, but practical software that utilizes the camera. The DS is being used in schools, Museums and baseball stadiums now. There's a lot of room for stuff other than games. oh sure there will be games that are "enhanced" with DSi options (Link's Awakening had a Gameboy Camera option in it) but come on guys... How can you possibly think the next Zelda would be designed to not work on 100 Million DS's?

As a DSL owner, I fail to see why I need to shell out 50 bucks (even more if I trade in my DSL) for absolute minimal improvement.

 

and how do you think DSiware/DLC/DSi VC/system software updates/build-in website browser would work on console without hdd or SD card slot? besides i would by DSi just for website browser if i didn't have DS(well i don't have one) cause web browser on psp is just broken.

Yes, due to internal limitations. The DSi has much larger amounts of internal space and an SD card slot, as well as having a faster processor and about twice the memory. It is a much beefier machine.

If you don't see the added value, cool. Don't buy it.
