Hmm usually GDC doesn't have many big announcements. Although, in recent years, they've been getting bigger because more mainstream media attention so I guess its plausible.

Gears 2 was announced at last year's GDC... I personally think this is likely because we heard developer after developer say they're switching to Wii as the lead development platform, but we've not heard about big games yet... Wii Motion + is about to bust loose IMO.

Although now that I've said all that, of course my heart will be broken by WiiFit 2 and Wii Music 2.
