Nah, they haven't deserted them. Every day there's more bawwwing over Square-Enix's dalliances. Clearly these fans are sitting at home waiting by the phone while Square and Namco are whoring around.

All SE has to do is release a few multiplats and PS3 owners will buy them. Gamers arn't as fickle as we all like to make out out. If you don't buy a game because the company didn't release the previous on your chosen console thats sad.

Unless of course the story is being carried over, if they're true fans they would pick up a 360.

2)The few RPGs it has have sold well in Japan despite being of spinoff quality?

If the Wii isn't the right platform... then no console is.

If an HD system would of been the right platform... why haven't the Japanese bought the 360?  They're extremly similar and 360 has more JRPG centric games.

Why are the Japanese buying the PS3 more when there is little to nothing there that traditionally entertains them outside of multiplatform games?

the JRPG genre is already crumbling.....S-E might be getting money now but in the long term its terrible what they & MS are doing

OFCOURSE this is all assuming MS payed them & their "reason" that they got PS3 dev kits late was a lie!

I'm just saying the fanbase hasn't really turned its back on anyone, square enix fans will come back and go like nothing ever happened.

The only problem is that xbox360 isn't really a Japanese market console.

Microsoft needs to put a Sega sticker over the Microsoft name, then it will sell.

Look at Yakuza, it was made by Sega. Sony doesn't deserve any credit for what Sega made. ¬_¬
