i think the sales are very good considering the attatch rate on the PS3. Shooters are the 360's strong point not the PS3's

5% bought it in two weeks, at a time of economic turmoil, during a period when few games are sold.

Really, very few games reach 5% attatch, simply because there are many people with diverse tastes. And while I will admit my initial estimates of 2m were too low, anyone who was thinking this was going to sell in Halo territory was deluding themselves.

the first 15 millions PS3 sold (before the subsequent blu-ray players price drops below PS3) were sold to both gamers and home theater buyers. Hence, there's maybe half of those 15 millions that don't buy games. That might explain huge PS3 games not doing huge numbers (except MGS4)

I would think the way Halo, Gears, and CoD stomp PS3 shooters in sales that would agree with that.

Microsoft hasn't marketed the 360 as a heater - Sony however has marketed the ps3 as a blu-ray player.

Now, which % of sold ps3 are just used as BR players, heck if anyone in this board knows.

Maybe people were expecting Halo 3 or GTAIV kind of sales number. Otherwise at 1millions in 2 weeks, KZ2 is doing fine! At the least, it should get to 2 millions. But if life time sales does not get pass 3 millions, it would be a disappointment given the investment of time and money Sony put in.

but they have marketered as a massager and media center if you know what i mean.

and also GTA4 sold the almost  same amount of the 360 version.
