I would say that if the Wii were to get a price cut before the PS3, it'd be the PS3 that was truly doomed, considering that it'd increase the price gap between entry into the 360 or Wii and the PS3 consoles.

Also, considering the gap is about the same (haven't checked) as when the PS3 launched, I would say 3 years was enough time to see whether Sony could make a significant dint in the gap.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't mean to ruin the fun of this thread. I just didn't get the point of why somebody would want to say someting like that in what is clearly just for fun, must be M$ doing.

I agree for being the cheapest console.....the 360 is only really doing as well as PS3 was last year at this time

which imo isn't very impressive

but anyways....in terms of this year YES....its increasing the gap

but its level of sales for a mass market price system is the same as PS3's last year at this time....(PS3 was $399 + £299) right now

in that way it isn't too impressive.

But I did say.....what really MATTERS is NOW....n 360 is increasing the gap now which is good for it

but I had to say that for a mass market price system.....why can't the 360 do better than PS3 was doing right now last year?

but isn't this also a significant price cut.....(a cut to $199)....so they can be compared

a more interesting perspective would be this- since 360 owners tend to spend less on their hardware- they can afford to spend more on their software.. something, m$, developers publishers and gamers will all agree is a good thing. And that is what reflects on the 360 attach rate vs the ps3.
